First off, the good: The hotel restaurant is excellent. Great food, cold beer, quick service, acceptable atmosphere, if you can get over the deafening traffic noise from three floors below. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The beds are firm, there is a working safe, and tv, and fridge. The bad: unless you are an experienced India traveller, you should... More

There are some flaws with this hotel, but overall it is good. Beds are way to short for European people, could easily have been 30cm longer. Internet here is slow/not working, so don't expect to be using it too much. Service is good, but they take a lot in commission (for example to book you a taxi downtown.) Food at... More

If you want a taste of a local Delhi bazar, this is the perfect hotel. Reasonable rates, polite staff, and great restaurant. Downside is its very loud on the street so I had to sleep with earplugs in. Wished it was a little bit cleaner but pretty good for India.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The room was incredibly comfortable, very clean, nice balcony with very modern furnitures. The owner and his employees were very welcoming and polite and helped us a lot during our journey with transport organization and places to visit. very good price for quality ! We'll definitely recommend !

Travelling with the Lonely planet we went to the Metropolis as Hari Piorko was full in Main Bazaar, staff is very friendly, the room was huge, clean and comfy, bathroom was the cleanest and the most modern we've had during our one month trip, the balcony was also a good point. The roof top is ok, not the best to... More

I have visited Delhi many times over the years, but this is the first time I have stayed at Hotel Metropolis, and it definitely won't be the last! The room was large, so plenty of space for bags, working at the desk, etc. There was a small balcony, which allowed viewing of the street, which is always fascinating. The door... More

Not the easiest place to find at 3am but once you do then the welcome is warm. Room large, clean and with a great wee balcony to nosey out onto the street below. Good size bathroom and hot water. AC. Bring your ear plugs if you can't sleep with background noise of the traffic, night club and cafe. Personally I... More

We stayed here for a week, and liked it very much. It looks quite poor from the outside, but the inside is good, especially the rooms. They are big, comfortable and has a huge bathroom with good showers and toilets. The atmosphere at the rooftop is very good at the evening. Good place to have a beer. Also the staff... More

This hotel is very handy for the station so ideal for a passing through traveller. From the outside it looks very unpromising but actually was a pleasant surprise inside. The room was large and airy with a clean very fresh bathroom. Wifi worked well. The restaurant is very dark but perfectly adequate for breakfast.

We stayed here for two nights after the hotel was recommended on the Man in Seat 61 website. It is close to the main train station and we were travelling out of Delhi by train so it seemed to fit the bill. The area around the hotel is certainly interesting and hectic but the hotel provides a nice respite in... More
