Tree Tops was our first stop on a three week trip around India and we were thankful for a calm place to rest after long, chaotic days traveling around Delhi. We were thankful for a clean room, beautiful patio, delicious breakfast (with some of the best tea we drank in all of India), and great conversations with Tannie. We would... More

Tree Tops is a lovely, peaceful place! However, before I write my review, here is a short note on how to get there. I am writing this note because Tree Tops arranges for pick-ups only from the airport, NOT from the railway station. So, if you are travelling to Delhi by train and plan to stay at Tree Tops, read... I stayed here on my last day in India. At my arrival I had made the mistake to book a hotel in the Para Ganj neighbourhood. What a different experience of Delhi I had the last night. Treetops is situated in Lovely neighbourhood with lots of green, somewhat fresh air even. Haus khaz village is easily reached by autoriksha and... More

After two months traveling throughout India, my last stop was at Tree Tops in Hauz Khas just before flying home to New York. What an incredible end to my trip! Tucked high up above the heat and bustle of New Delhi, Treetops is a stunning, breezy, multi-storey home with a sunlight-filled dining room and living room elegantly decorated with beautiful... We are forever indebted to Treetops guesthouse and the hospitality of Tannie and Murad. After 2 very stressful days in Old Delhi we came to Treetops in low spirits. Tannie and Murad were incredibly welcoming and understanding. We were recommended some local places to eat and allowed to settle in peace and in comfortable surroundings. The air conditioned room had... More

On a recent visit to Delhi, I stayed at Tree Tops, a beautiful guest house owned by Murad and Tannie Baig. The guest house is surrounded by enormous trees and has a lovely roof garden. I was lucky enough to get the bedroom facing the roof garden. The room was large and tastefully furnished and has its own bathroom Tannie... More

When booking a cooking class, you expect to do a little cooking. During this cooking class, neither our or our hosts' hands touched any food as her 'servants' (as she called them) did all the work. I hope they get a fair cut of our 1000 rupee payment. It was agreed beforehand that this would be a 2.5 hour class,... More

Sirs This is the third bad review from the same group of 8 who came for a LONELY PLANET cooking class. They seemed very happy until one of them tried to run off without paying her bill. This girl got angry at this and seems to have made this into a serial complaint. You should not have taken 3 bad... More

I'm not quite sure where to begin with my shock and dissatisfaction with this cooking class. It was not a cooking class at all. A group of us had booked this class expecting to at least partake in some of the cooking and be taught some authentic Indian dishes. But in reality we all stood and watched as Tannie hurriedly... This is the first complaint about our cooking classes in 12 years. Eight Australian girls wanted a class at very short notice and the menu and price was fully settled beforehand. For $15 each they cooked a substantial meal that they sat and ate and I gave them complimentary refreshments, pudding and an extra exotic Indian rice dish. They got... More

Excited to learn how to cook some traditional indian meals I booked a class with Tanni Baig. What I experienced however was an overpriced, home cooked meal made by her 'servants' (as she referred to them) while she talked on her phone and went on a racist tiered. After only an hour we were forced out of her guest house,... More

This place is home from home, an oasis of beauty, tranquility and the kindest hospitality. We arrived tired in Delhi during May's heatwave, what could be better than retreating to rest at Mr and Mrs Baig's sublimely tasteful guesthouse. We were welcomed like family, yet treated with the upmost regard and respect. The A/C double room was spacious and cool... More
