We spent here 3 nights at the end of our vacation and we deffinitely don't recommend this place. Hotel looks much worse than on photos - old, bad conditions, dirty. Neighbourhood is modified in photoshop - in real there are slums - with lots of garbage, homeless dogs and people sleeping on the street just in front of the hotel.... More

Pahar Ganj is not for everyone but we LOVE it. It's a vibrant, busy area in Old Delhi seething with life and experience. Jyoti Mahal is in an ideal location just off Main Bazaar and surprisingly quiet. The lovely big rooms with sitting area and window seats are decorated in traditional Rajasthani style and are very comfortable. The bathroom is... More

Stayed here twice during our passing through Delhi and surrounds. Quaint little guest house in the centre of a bustling bazaar and markets. The staff here are very friendly and accommodating and go out of their way to be of service...at any time night or day. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are comfortable, clean but basic. Each one... More

The outstanding feature of the Jyoti Mahal is the friendly staff, who are helpful and obliging yet do not fawn over you or expect constant tipping as we experienced in other Indian hotels. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with very comfortable beds, and the showers are excellent. The rooftop terrace is a great space for relaxing and for good... More

This is the fifth year I have stayed in Jyoti Mahal, Pahar Ganj, whilst passing through Delhi and have always found their booking service efficient, rooms clean and any help needed supplied by the reception staff.  In December and January the rooms can be cold with little natural light but to compensate they have a lovely roof garden restaurant or... Stayed here for one night passing through. Perfectly adequate for that purpose but wouldnt necessarily stay for too much longer. Well situated. Communal areas were quite open and dirty and quite tired. The food was delicious and the bed was comfortable and clean. We werent here for a luxury stay we were just passing through and didnts spend too much... More

Don't be put off by the area that this hotel is located in. The actual place is safe and contained and the staff are helpful and will organize your taxi rides for a fair rate. In Delhi everyone is out to scam tourists and this hotel will ensure you get to the shopping venues you want to be at. The... More

If you want a fully glass sealed air conditioned hotel then the Jyoti Mahal is not for you. A large percentage of the communal areas (stairs, landings, reception etc) are open to the elements so expect a little dust and noise from the road outside. Our room (101) was spacious with a large clean bed and everything we needed. Yes... More

Even the driver had a problem finding the place (behind the cinema). We now realize that the photo's on the site are much better than the real thing. It could have been so much better when the maintenance was not so bad. This place has much potential but not effected due to so, so standards and not to clean. Something... More

This hotel provides an oasis within the busy market area of Parhar Ganj, once you have found it , it is easy to find your back as it is behind the old imperial cinema, The decor is all a riot of Rajasthani art and design with huge old fashioned and decorative locks on each room door, The roof top restaurant...
