Great room, great price, beautiful property. However, beer at the bar is $10 a bottle and Internet costs $12 per day. This offsets any bargan room price and leaves you feeling a bit ripped off. Modest b & b accommodations throughout India provide free Internet access.

Built in the 1980s on government land with a 100-year leaser, this four-star hotel combines Neo-Neo-Classical panache with cordial service. The garden setting and the marble-floored lobby and dining room make the guest rooms seem small and a tad worn by comparison; but our beds were firm, and thoughtful touches such as a mini-fridge and bedside reading lamps on extendable arms... I stayed here for one night then next day I stay in next door the Shangri-La. The plan was to check out both hotels. The Royal plaza was 60% of the price I paid for the Shangri-La so I wasn't expect too much. I know from previous reviews that the rooms are small, worn out, but being one person for... More

We started our holiday in India at the Royal Plaza, and they gave us a dingy damp room set up as a single - so we had to ask for another room. A poor start. This hotel must have been very smart twenty years ago but is now in need of refurbishment. The staff try and the food is good.... More

The hotel is very attractively located and the first impressions good - beautifully decorated ceiling in the entrance lounge etc. The rest did not quite live up to this - some of the rooms are rather small if sufficient for a single person o for a very short stay - wardrobe space etc limited. The staff encountered seemed more prone... More

Stayed 3 times within a 14 day trip to India. Rooms were clean and comfortable! Service was good but the main restaurant was a little slow. The highlight was Ms Aman who managed the Tea-Lounge with her lovely personality and her customer focus that seemed genetic. She could not have done enough for us. The outside pool area is lovely... Lovely room, very clean and large enough for the two of us but the mini bar was locked away. We spent some time in the bar which despite having three staff they seemed unwilling to serve anyone (well the cricket was on). Be aware that the prices in the bar do not include taxes, expect to add another 30% onto... More

This is an excellent property in very good location in New Delhi but they offer the poorest service, be it while checking in, in their room service or at the restaurant. It's difficult to see any staff with a smiling face anywhere in the hotel. Most of them give you an impression that you are there to disturb their peace... More

The banquet Manager Mr.Avnish Tyagi and his staff(Ms.Pallavi), The restuarant manager Mr.Navneet, Chefs(Ashish and one more), and all the other staff members were always ready to help us..The hotel has an extraordinary entrance which leaves a lasting impressions on the clients..In all... Set in a busy central area of Delhi, the Royal Plaza provided a very good base from which to explore the city. Hotel room was very smart, breakfasts were excellent and the staff approachable. Quick walk to the efficient, very busy metro gets one to the spectacular Akshardam temple, which was truly worth seeing.
