All of the other reviews are for real. Tranquilo Bay is an amazing place that offers an amazing adventure from the minute you arrive. Jay, Jim, and Renee have created a complete experience that allows you to fully enjoy the area, while feeling pampered and cared for. During our four night stay we snorkeled daily, hiked, learned about the wildlife... More

Our family spent 4 days at Tranquilo Bay in early 2015. What impressed me most was the extent the owners (Jay, Jim, and Renee) and staff go to ensure you and your group enjoy what the Bastimentos Islands have to offer. During our time there our party fished, surfed, paddle-boarded, swam, snorkeled, visited a bat cave, took a 'nature walk'... More

Our entire family loved everything about this hotel. As the property has only 6 cabins, they were able to completely tailor our experience to meet what we wanted to do. We had a day on the beach, did some great hiking, kayaking and snorkeling. The entire time our extremely knowledgable guides led the way. Our kids especially enjoyed playing with... More

Tranquilo Bay is exceptional! It's a small resort with only six cabins surrounded by the jungle. The owners and guides love Tranquilo Bay and their enthusiasm is infectious. In fact, the owners build the resort themselves and now live onsite to manage the property. This property is also extremely well managed. At Tranquilo Bay you can do as many (or... More

I visited Tranquillo Bay with 4 other photographers. We landed in Bocas del Toro and were met at airport by Jim, one of the owners and Roman our guide. After a short boat ride we arrived at the lodge. My cabin was excellent and I found a sloth hanging from a tree near my door. What a treat for a... More

The location is ideal for getting to know the Easter/Northern Islands of Panama. Total isolation from bustling society. The owner and staff are very knowlegable about the abundant wildlife, spotting them in deep vegetation, we even had 3-toe sloths hanging about in trees just a few feet away from our opulent cabin. The meals and amenities are nicely attended to... More

My partner and I have stayed at a number of wildlife and nature resorts/lodges as part of our world trip and this is definitely one of the best! We selected the Close to Shore package which is an all inclusive package (food, drinks) that also includes all activities with a guide that doesn't require a boat. With a kayak we... More

I visited Tranquilo Bay for with my Uncle (He is good friends of the owners) for my 18th Birthday and the memories have not faded. The place is great and when you first arrive, by boat all you see is long wooden plank path touching the water's edge and then disappearing into the rainforest. It almost seems as if you... More

My husband and I visited in early April with our 2 daughters aged 11 and 13. The cabins were comfortable with a/c and plenty of hot water... Luxuries we'd done without on previous visits to Central/South America. Ramon was a wonderful guide whether we were birding, looking for invertebrates (my husband's interest) or snorkeling on the reef. A favorite excursion... More
