This was my third trip to the lodge and probably the best. Went with six friends with the primary purpose to catch some Tarpon. In that we were successful having caught (and released) four along with many Jack Crevelle. When not fishing, some of us took guided nature hikes through the jungle, some snorkled, and others sat on the front... More

From the professional guides, cooks, scenery, atmosphere, cleanliness,it can not be beaten! Just a short boat ride from the airport, and your in paradise! You can lay in a hammock and listen to the hundreds of birds, or fill your day with excursions to other islands, snorkel, fish, kayak.

It might be called Tranquilo but there is also a lot of activities around, and all eco and nature oriented. The sight is amazing as well as the getting there by boat as the owners come to meet you at the airport and from there on, it is a wonderful experience. Every one is friendly, owners Renae, Jim and Jay,... More

The builder/owners of Tranquilo Bay are totally involved in catering to their guests. And, you do feel like a guest at their special place. Our primary purpose was birding and photography, but we also enjoyed kayaking and snorkeling. The staff was super: attentive, friendly, and helpful. The guides were experienced, enthusiastic and friendly.

Staying at Tranquilo Bay is like staying with old friends or relatives. The whole team is incredibly friendly, and made us feel very welcome. It really makes a difference when the owners are around and care about what they do. Jim, Jay and Renee are very nice people. The naturalist guides, Ramon and Natalia are extremely knowledgable and passionate about... More

Seamless. From the moment Tranquilo Bay picked us up to the moment they dropped us back off, our experience at Tranquilo Bay was seamless. Like the posturepedic beds we slept so soundly in each night, each day was magically molded to our every contour of wishes and needs to make for a perfect eco-adventure-nature-tropical island-vacation. My family and I spent... More

The lodge itself is almost a canopy tower. I shot hundreds of photos right off the deck. The surrounding area, including other islands and the mainland, provide a rich cross section of habitats from sea level to the continental divide...a wealth of birds and other wildlife. It is ideal for any nature photographer. The folks at the lodge are friendly,... More

Finding a place with no reviews less than very good is rare but this is the truth! Quite possibly the best eco lodge in the world. The owners are passionate about their investment and run it impeccably, Natalia and Ramon, the guides are outstanding and listen and react to your interests intuitively. If your interest is birding then it is... More

I just returned from a spring vacation with my wife and teenage daughter. We stayed 5 days/4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The lodge is situated on an island off the northern (Caribbean) shore of Panama in Bocas del Toro. It was a 45 minute flight from Panama City. One of the owners, Jim, met us at the airport and... My wife and I stayed at Tranquillo Bay for a week as part of a Victor Emanual Nature Tour Bocas Del Toro bird watching trip. The trip focused primarily on bird watching. Jim, one of the owners, together with his two staff naturalists, Ramon and Natalia, accompanied us on our daily adventures. They could not have been more helpful, knowledgeable... More
