The location is ideal for getting to know the Easter/Northern Islands of Panama. Total isolation from bustling society. The owner and staff are very knowlegable about the abundant wildlife, spotting them in deep vegetation, we even had 3-toe sloths hanging about in trees just a few feet away from our opulent cabin. The meals and amenities are nicely attended to... More

My partner and I have stayed at a number of wildlife and nature resorts/lodges as part of our world trip and this is definitely one of the best! We selected the Close to Shore package which is an all inclusive package (food, drinks) that also includes all activities with a guide that doesn't require a boat. With a kayak we... More

I visited Tranquilo Bay for with my Uncle (He is good friends of the owners) for my 18th Birthday and the memories have not faded. The place is great and when you first arrive, by boat all you see is long wooden plank path touching the water's edge and then disappearing into the rainforest. It almost seems as if you... More

My husband and I visited in early April with our 2 daughters aged 11 and 13. The cabins were comfortable with a/c and plenty of hot water... Luxuries we'd done without on previous visits to Central/South America. Ramon was a wonderful guide whether we were birding, looking for invertebrates (my husband's interest) or snorkeling on the reef. A favorite excursion... More

You fly into Bocas and they boat you to the hotel which is on a different island. They handled our airport transfers in Panama City, helped with us choosing a Panama City hotel, and booked our airfare from Panama City to Bocas. The first night I asked for a glass of ice to take back to my room, every night... More

I was at Tranquilo Bay last month with my 20 year old daughter who is a budding field biologist. I had found out about the place through TA and cross referenced to my satisfaction but it was a leap of faith. We had no way of knowing that we would be there with very few other guests and would have the... This is a should-have review. I should have written it a year ago. My husband and I are in our 70's and have traveled to many wonderful place but Tranquilo Bay is among the very best. Do you have a vacation spot that is always is in the back of your mind, occasionally surfaces, bringing back a flood of warm... More

I knew I would love this place even before I went there, but it exceeded even my high expectations. I was impressed by the comfort, service, location, great guides, and the sheer number of neat things to do. My cabin was spacious and tastefully decorated. It had hot water, ceiling fan, air conditioning, coffee maker, table, chair, and desk. Full... More

Our family (couple, 3 young boys, and my dad) booked last minute (like, the day before) for 3 nights here after being "stuck" in Panama due to a cancelled flight, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. We couldn't have found anything better had we researched for weeks! We were picked up at the airport, took a quick van... More

My husband Bob and i stayed here for 3 nights. Jim, Jay and Renee did an outstanding job with this place. They made us feel like we were part of their family. Jim's sister Gail was in the kitchen and she is an awesome chef. Natalia and Ramon were incredible guides. We went snorkeling with jellyfish with Ramon and had... More
