phenomenal location- remote jungle island on the beach. incredible accomodations- we had large single room with 3 beds, one wall open for perfect ocean view. the most lovely support staff- genuinely nice local workers. amazing meals- three times a day. rained a bit every day, but never held us back. vincent was great host, non-intrusive. only holds 22 guests, so... This place is in between the jungle and the beach and your bungalow doesn't have any windows so you are in sync with nature. This is a truly amazing experience though, the location couldn't be better, it is very isolated (which i enjoyed, i do not like over crowded places) the bungalows are all right on the ocean. We had... More

We stayed as a family at Al Natural in March 2014. It is a really unique place, but is not going to be for everyone. I would describe the location as "jungle meets coral reef." Here are the positives and negatives. Positives: 1) the European owners, Michel and Vincent, are really great people - this is kind of like staying... More

Stayed for 3 nights at this place as a weekend getaway.. and wow the time I had here was just amazing. The hosts were great, excellent food, made with love and served with pleasure. Great location, nice and quiet based on a small island about 60 mins boat ride from the town. Clear waters, loads of activities to do Amenities... More

We stayed 6 nights on April.... Isla bastimentos is amazing, the sea, the sand everything :) The hotel is something different, you're going to walk through sand paths to get to your room/bungalow, and you can enjoy and experience what is like to sleep on the beach with the wind and the sand.. It's all so quiet, that you'll see... More

My girlfriend and I stayed for 5 nights in August last year and loved the informal, relaxed feel of the resort, and exotic setting. The wooden bedrooms / cabins were fantastic - semi open to the elements which worked perfectly to cool things down, with really comfortable mattresses. No bug issues for us. Food was fantastic, and we enjoyed the... More

We stayed 4 nights in Al Natural in February. The location is simply amazing: Beautiful water, nice beach and rainforest. We have never stayed closer to the water, some of the cabins are literally on the beach. The first one we stayed in had a deck that was almost above the water - very cool. The cabins are very airy,... More

My wife and I traveled here in February 2014 and had mixed feelings about Al Natural. To summarise: PROS - The food is outstanding. Vincent, the Belgian chef, is a great character and an excellent chef. Our time spent in the common dining area was very enjoyable. The wine flowed freely, we met some great people and there was a... I can't even begin to put into words what an amazing experience Al Natural was. It was a bit of a splurge for us since we usually backpack, but we had just gotten married in Costa Rica so this was our honeymoon! It was well worth it! After seeing the remoteness and the way that this place functions, I feel... More
