Loved this place, could have stayed forever. Good people, good food, good beach, everything is chill and its run on solar power and rain water. They also offer activities including good yoga classes and bat cave tours.

This is a really cool set up. At first we were a little disappointed with the tents- they definitely do not look as glamorous as the pictures suggest! But we ended up loving this place. If you're used to hotel rooms you may not like the tent full of sand, and the constantly damp feeling bed (due to the humidity?)... More

The tents are down right luxurious, yurt like elevated on a platform with a real bed (or two), a solar powered light and a fan. With the cool breezes, no AC needed! The owners are committed to providing a comfortable happy place with the lowest carbon footprint possible. Red Frog beach is still somewhat undeveloped - an advantage if what... More

Stayed for 4 or 5 nights here with my wife in the dorm tent. Big space, didn't feel cramped - woke up to find a big grasshopper on the bed so definitely a place for those happy to share their space with some wildlife! Good communal area - no kitchen, so have to buy all meals. Food and drink on... More

I met up with a group of women for a yoga retreat at Palmar; our ages ranged from mid 20s to me - a pretty adventurous 57 year old. The adventure began when I flew from Costa Rica (most came through Panama City) into Bocas Town in a small plane. After landing, walked 5 minutes into town to the Casa... More

Palmar Tent Lodge is the most fun place to visit. I went for a week in August for Lindsey Uhrig's yoga retreat and what a wonderful time all of us yogis had. After flying from Panama City to Bocas, our group met at the Casa Verde hostel where from there we took Palmar's boat to Red Frog Beach. One of... More

Ok, it rained while we were there. We were totally in the wrong season and that was our bad. But it rained and we were wet, our backpacks got wet and there were bugs and we were camping... Not glamping. The beach is pretty, the food is OK. The people are nice. It isn't a "must do" in my opinion.... More

I spent a whole week in Palmar and had a great, relaxing, fun, exiting, yummy, chill, awesome week. The owners and the crew are very helpful and fun and after the week I could have spent another one there. You have to be aware that some things are more rustic that you are used to have them, but just go... More

We were directed to this place by another traveler we met in Chiriqui. We had already booked a place in Bocas Town, but upon mid-day arrival, we were locked out & didn't feel comfortable with the location. We took a look at availability at Palmar & headed over. A disappointing arrival in Bocas Del Toro turned immediately awesome when we... More

This place rocked. We were planning on staying on the Old Bank of Bastimentos but soon, thankfully, discovered this gem on Red Frog Beach. Unlike most of Bocas Del Toro, this place was right on the beach. We have 5 year-old triplets and they had a blast. There were lots of younger people, surfers/backpackers, but this place was great for... More
