AVOID MEDIOCRITY and stay here! Definitely the best piece of Bocas...This tech-free, beach front, Eco lodge, yoga retreat piece of beauty is undoubtedly somewhere you just get stuck. The tents are beautiful and just private enough if you feel like escaping but the main lodge is like mum's kitchen and the warm heart of Palmar and you'll invariably feel at... More

There was 13 of us, my family of 6 and our friends family of 7. Sebastian (one of the owners) was great! we didn't get in until almost midnight, on our drive to get to Bocas Del Toro we got delayed by three separate protests along the way. Sebastian got us our tents that night, then finished checking us in... More

Loved this place. It's a small, funky tented camping style property with outdoor showers and a really fun, hip restaurant and bar. The food was pretty good - pizza night is the best. The beach was beautiful and there is a super cool hike not too far from there where you can spot the little red frogs for which Panama... More

These guys have a cool thing going on here- the food is good, the bar is cool and the setting is idyllic. However, they are not maintaining it well and the rooms are hugely overpriced! Outdoor shared showers and toilets are a nice touch in the jungle but not for the prices you pay here! The staff are mainly volunteers... More

Hi Ellie, First of all, I want to sincerely apologize for your experience. It truly upsets us anytime we hear that someone had a less than fantastic experience at Palmar. We live here because we love it, and want to share it with our guests. Any case where we fail to meet expectations is taken very seriously. I would like... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in May 2015 and had such a blast. Great people, delicious food, stunning beach. It was a highlight of our trip to panama for sure. Thanks to Aaron for showing us such a good time!! - Jana and Katie

Right on the beach -- with delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere -- it was the perfect spot for my group of friends on our recent trip to Bocas del Toro. It is located (quite literally) in the jungle, so that you feel immersed in nature, but still with the benefits of a bed, running water, and lock boxes in... More

I was booked to stay somewhere else on Bastimentos and our first morning on the island we wandered over to Palmar to have breakfast. Fell in love with the magical place and moved over as fast as we could. It is so beautiful. Lovely landscaping, sweet tents, sleeping to the sound of crashing waves and fabulous people from all over... More

Nestled in the rainforest, just steps from the pristine Red Frog Beach, Palmar is a unique gem that must not be missed! Incredibly helpful staff, great food, better atmosphere. Make sure to get a private tent for the true experience. Best sleep I have had yet in my travels through Central America! Special thanks to the management and owners, who... More

Pro: - The owners are nice and helpful - fun experience - very ecologically balanced - loved the rainwater showers Neg: - Tents were really sticky and quite humid all the time, so nothing ever gets dry and everything starts to smell after two to three days, especially when it's raining. - The Tours are not really organised by the... I have to start this review by saying that I never slept at Palmar Tent Lodge and that I do not like beaches. Explaining why do I love Palmar and Red Frog Beach, where it is located, will require an effort, or talent, I am not sure I have or can provide. Most of the staff at Palmar are volunteers:... More
