Palmar is a piece of paradise that I was fortunate enough to spend two weeks at recently. This place is beautiful both inside and outside. The moment I stepped through the doorway I felt totally welcomed and safe. As a woman traveling alone it was great to know I was in good hands here. The tents are sweet; minimalistic, quiet... More

To start with: the location is absolutely great right at red frog beach and staff is friendly. The tents are OK, but think some need to be renewed. And the twin beds are a bit on the small side. There are no private showers attached to any of the tents as you maybe read in older reviews as they removed... More

As long as you remember its basically camping with some nice perks (like lounge/bar/restaurant and awesome beach location) you will be happy. The beach is beautiful, but waves are too strong for swimming (may be different depending on weather/time of year?). During the day there are a few other options for food - a burger stand, fish tacos, and 2... More

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in one of the tents on our honeymoon. The beach was beautiful and the island was perfect. Palmar also has good food - so we never felt like we had to worry about where we would eat. The managers have great suggestions for what to do, and you should definitely trust them! We... More

Both of us had a great time there for a week.. stay in a safari tent with private shower and small garden.. I love the eco system there and how the owner operates the lodge. We met cool people there. had chance to do the caving and went through the rain forest and saw animals and of course the red... More

Palmar was different and fun but tents are not for everyone. Staff were great, atmosphere was excellent on site and the location is on Red Frog beach, and close to good walking trails. Food was good. Beach gets busy with day trippers. However it rains and that means everything gets wet and stays wet. Tents get musty. During our stay,... More

I've been on the Island of Bastimentos, and Palmar is the best. From the moment you arrive you immediately feel at home. Comfortable. The staff and volunteers do literally everything they can to make sure you have a good time- and you will have a good time. Its a guarantee. The tents are awesome, and so comfortable, and showering in... More

Had a great time vacationing at Palmar for 10 days. With its beautiful location, half in the jungle, half on the beach, Palmar has lots to offer. The owners are great guys who are happy help with any needs a person may have and overall all the workers are extremely accommodating and friendly. They arranged tours for us, taxi rides,... More

We found a blog raving about Palmar, and we booked instantly. Perched right on Red Frog Beach, this Tent City/Eco-Lodge is perfect for really chilling out. The staff were friendly and helpful, we made many new friends, improved our Backgammon skills, and MK's daily yoga class was lovely. Deck chairs and hammocks provided for free were the perfect for enjoying... More

I loved this place. The price per night was SO reasonable and I loved the open air commons area and kitchen where all can BYOB and cook, etc. There is "family dinner" type dinner every night where you can eat with all the other campers! I stayed a few years ago but am thinking of going back so I'm writing... More
