Right on the beach -- with delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere -- it was the perfect spot for my group of friends on our recent trip to Bocas del Toro. It is located (quite literally) in the jungle, so that you feel immersed in nature, but still with the benefits of a bed, running water, and lock boxes in... More

I was booked to stay somewhere else on Bastimentos and our first morning on the island we wandered over to Palmar to have breakfast. Fell in love with the magical place and moved over as fast as we could. It is so beautiful. Lovely landscaping, sweet tents, sleeping to the sound of crashing waves and fabulous people from all over... More

Nestled in the rainforest, just steps from the pristine Red Frog Beach, Palmar is a unique gem that must not be missed! Incredibly helpful staff, great food, better atmosphere. Make sure to get a private tent for the true experience. Best sleep I have had yet in my travels through Central America! Special thanks to the management and owners, who... More

Pro: - The owners are nice and helpful - fun experience - very ecologically balanced - loved the rainwater showers Neg: - Tents were really sticky and quite humid all the time, so nothing ever gets dry and everything starts to smell after two to three days, especially when it's raining. - The Tours are not really organised by the... I have to start this review by saying that I never slept at Palmar Tent Lodge and that I do not like beaches. Explaining why do I love Palmar and Red Frog Beach, where it is located, will require an effort, or talent, I am not sure I have or can provide. Most of the staff at Palmar are volunteers:... More

While looking for somewhere to stay prior to our trip, we stumbled upon Palmar Tent Lodge and booked it online. We were pretty excited, but we had no idea how amazing this place would be until we arrived. Palmar is snuggled between a big beautiful beach and the jungle. At night you can hear the crash of waves and the... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights last year. If you ever wanted to know what it would be like to camp (comfortably) on a remote paradise island then this is place for you. The adventures starts in Bocas del Toro where you can take a small motorized water taxi and then you will walk about 5 mins... More

My stay at Palmar Lodge was a trip to remember for good. I spent three nights at the dorm. This lodge is the ideal place to connect with nature, relax and meet amazing people coming from all over the world. Palmar Lodge really defines what an eco-tourist hotel should be: energy is generated through solar panels and owners are closely... More

The Palmar Tent Lodge is an unbelievable place to vacation. The location is ideal and the tents super comfortable. Even the boat ride over is fun. We had a slight medical situation (nothing to do with the lodge) and the staff could not have been more helpful and attentive. They bent over backwards to help us. What an incredible group... More
