Palmar was unlike any trip or vacation I have ever been on. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful on all fronts. Being that it is 100% sustainable with solar power and pumping natural rain water, along with the no wifi was very humbling and made me question how much I waste when I am at home. It... More

Palmar Tent lodge was amazing, it was one of the most unforgettable trips. Two buddies and myself stayed for a week, It was such a relaxing time. Being able to fully disconnect on the most beautiful beach made the trip for me. The Volunteers, Doug, Ryan, L'iandro, Francesca, and ANA made you feel very welcome. My favorite activities were snorkeling,... More

What can I say.. I've been to Palmar twice just this year and both times I've had unforgettable experiences. I just recently visited with two friends and we were all blown away. The staff here have this attitude that's simply contagious. Very friendly and helpful with anything you need and unlike most hotels and places - They're constantly present, available, and... More

Palmar is super cute and charming. Solar powered and uses only rain water and is right on the beautiful jungle beach!!! The restaurant has great food for all meals. I stayed in the big tent dorm bed and it was perfect for travelling alone. The other quests were respectful and I felt totally safe. I would love to go back... More

No electricity other than a small reading lamp, no wifi, no own toilet and only rainwater showers... does that scare you? If yes, don't stay here - if not, then you will love this place. Wonderful beach, wonderful staff and wonderful food. We had an awesome stay here and enjoyed every bit of it. Aaron and Sebastian took great care... More

I can't say enough good things about this place. I basically had to be dragged away!! The staff are super friendly and helpful, the tents are unique and give you a jungle meets ocean experience, and the beach is one of the best I've ever been to. You won't find much better anywhere in the world! As long as you... More

First of all, the tents are tiny. Those pictures were probably taken with some magical Dr. Who camera that made them look spacious on the inside. Second, the tents are moldy. We could literally watch the mold spots grow day by day, developing micro civilizations of Mildewians that worshiped us as their gods. If you go in the dry season,... More

Loved this place, could have stayed forever. Good people, good food, good beach, everything is chill and its run on solar power and rain water. They also offer activities including good yoga classes and bat cave tours.

This is a really cool set up. At first we were a little disappointed with the tents- they definitely do not look as glamorous as the pictures suggest! But we ended up loving this place. If you're used to hotel rooms you may not like the tent full of sand, and the constantly damp feeling bed (due to the humidity?)... More

The tents are down right luxurious, yurt like elevated on a platform with a real bed (or two), a solar powered light and a fan. With the cool breezes, no AC needed! The owners are committed to providing a comfortable happy place with the lowest carbon footprint possible. Red Frog beach is still somewhat undeveloped - an advantage if what... More
