Fantastic atmosphere, cool bar and pool. The staff is friendly and inviting. My wife, 2 teenage boys and I rode bikes out to this place in the pouring rain. After a tough trek, the covered bar was a great place to relax, drink and eat. We didn't spend the night, but had a very pleasant afternoon.

My wife and 2 daughters (3 and 6 y/o) stayed at the lodge for four nights. It's a bit of a haul outside of town; to get there requires a truck taxi, or at least a vehicle with plenty of clearance, as the road crosses a few beaches, small creeks, and big potholes. But the 30 minute drive or so... More

The owners (Helene and Reiner), their children, staff, and new manager (Cindy) were delightful hosts. They go out of their way to make you feel part of their family and, at the same time, welcomed guests. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The gardens and pool are immaculately maintained. The food was very good. This is a nice alternative to... More

Quite place. Karen and Steve make this place. The owners are a bit stand offish. Breakfast was excellent every Time. A little far from town. Over 2 hour walk. 30 minute cab ride and you could wait for an hour or so for them to show up. Restaurant is good here. Beach is nice. Can't really swim in it. The... More

My wife and I stayed here several weeks ago and found it to be a comfortable, quiet, clean lodge with friendly staff. It is a bit of a hike from Bocas Town (about 40 minute cab ride), but that gets you into nature and the peace that comes with it. That being said, there are plenty of things to do... More

Despite being the only guests when we went (due to it being low/rainy season) we had a great, relaxing stay at Playa Bluff Lodge. We were looking for a place that wasn't in town but that wasn't completely isolated, and this was a great place for that. Not much else right around the hotel, but it helps that they at... More

Stayed here in February with family (3 kids, ages 11 to 8). Enjoyed the eco nature of the resort and saw howler monkeys, sloths and caimans in the garden in back. Pool was very handy for the kids because the beach is beautiful but the surf is too dangerous for swimming. While staying there we saw a surfer who almost... More

Excellent location in between beach and jungle. Your own wildlife just steps behind your bungalow. Spotting the giant leatherback turtle at night on the beach. Great food. And last but not least: the friendliest, kindest, and most amazing owners and managers who by the way, also just manage to remember the names of each and every guest. Go to this... More

This is a lovely place to stay next to a phenomenal beach. With over 5km of sand and surf on your doorstep there is nothing not to like. The hotel is set amongst the jungle and whilst here we spotted a sloth and it's baby, frogs and a myriad of tropical birds. The rooms are clean, really large and beds... More

I just spent five days relaxing in beautiful Bluff Beach on the northern coast of Isla Colon, Bocas del Toro. While the town of Bocas itself is lively and full of fun seekers, I prefer the quieter more natural settings of sand, ocean, jungle, birdsong and frogs. Playa Bluff Lodge is the perfect setting for those who would rather skip... More
