This place needs a serious overhaul as everything seems tired and worn out. For the price we paid to stay in the Starlight double, I was expecting something A LOT better. Both my wife and I were quite disappointed. Honestly the only thing that was a positive in the whole experience was the tub on the balcony. Everything else reminded... More

First hotel I've stayed in that's really catered for cyclists! Each room has two bike racks! (see picture), and a section in the room with flooring appropriate for bicycles. Wifi works well - free and strong, in lobby and each room. Limited English channels on TV, but with strong wifi, can get good online content. Breakfast selection is very Asian.... More

I stayed at the Naruwan in Taitung as part of an organised tour. The room was comfortable - though english language instructions for the japanese-style kettle would have been good. Basically this hotel caters only for groups of mandarin-speaking travellers and is quite inflexible in meeting the needs of any other customers. There were no options for the single diner... More

Naruwan is a great place to stay for business in the Taitung area. It has nice views over the surrounding countryside and buildings and there is a nice bike path running around the area. The decor is slightly island-feeling, paying homage to Taiwan's aboriginal roots and ocean explorers. Nice dark wood decor throughout. There is a lovely turn-down service at... More

Taitung is a remote area isolated from Taiwan's main population by mountains. Considering that the area is mostly farming and maintain much of its aboriginals culture, this hotel (says Formosan Naruwan Hotel outside, not inn) will meet the expectation of a city tourist; comfortably large beds, clean restrooms and welcoming lobby. A nice respite from travelling round the island on... More

As part of an organised tour around Taiwan, we stopped at Taitung on the east coast of Taiwan. The hotel selected by our tour operator was the Naruwan Hotel. We were made very welcome by the staff and our room was spacious and clean. A complimentary cocktail was made available to us at the bar and breakfast next morning was... More

The hotel is situated out of town but there are several restaurant s around it. The room is dated but clean and large. The power did not come on when we put the card on the slot and a serviceman has to be called. We also have to call the serviceman again because the central air conditioning was not cooling... More

We stayed there only for a night so didn't got much time to explore the hotel or surrounding area though there was a small market in the vicinity which probably closes early. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was ordinary. They have a good swimming pool and hot spring facility downstairs but one needs to have swimming costume... More

Not much to add to other reviews really. Not very close to the center, which is OK if driving, might be a problem otherwise. I thought our room was nice, although the bathroom looked a tad outdated. Breakfast appears to be meant mostly for Taiwanese crowd, with little Western selection and even from that standpoint, not as nice as one... More

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The food is also ok. Its actually a five star hotel, though it looks quite old. What's worth mentioning is that the hotel provides shuttle service at night time to the nearby night market. They charge NT50 per head for the round trip transportation. The travel time is around 10 minutes per trip. They... More
