We stayed at the Red Kaleidescope room in May. The room was a little small but cozy, and the owners were very friendly! Getting there: We were at Cing Jing before this, so we took a bus to Puli Station, before taking a direct bus to Sun Moon Lake. Alight at the Visitor Centre and walk back in the direction... More

This is one of the best places we stayed at in Taiwan. Really clean and nice room with a owner who is a real star. He takes you free at charge on a guided trip up to the tea plantation on a hill so you can get the best view over Sun Moon lake. He has a great knowledge about... More

It was a stop-over for us in Sun Moon Lake before we continued our trip down south to Kaohsiung, and we were feeling quite tired from the past 4 days of non-stop touring. So imagine our surprise as we stepped foot into the hotel. Wayne's mom greeted us so cheerfully that we couldn't help but feel re-energized. She gave us... More

Despite the very clean minsu and the strategic location, the morning hike with Wayne was one of the special memories from the Sun Moon Lake trip. We woke up early and began our walk at 4:20am. It took us about a 30-40 min. walk. The mountain view was breathtaking and the sun rise scenery was mesmerizing. The air was fresh.... More

My one night stay at this B&B/minsu was the highlight of my entire Taiwan trip. I regret that I only stayed here for one night after hearing about all the interesting stories about Sun Moon Lake from Wayne the owner. Highlight for the trip has to be the early morning walk to a nearby hill for the most incredible sunrise... More

This place was recommended by a friend and we were so glad. Wayne, his wife, and mother were the nicest, friendliest, open, honest B&B owners I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The owner grew up here, left for the big city for university, and came back because he missed the place so much. They know all the secret,... More

We had the most wonderful stay in laurel villa. Shuishe pier offers the best mountain view compared to the other piers, and laurel villa is located just 2 minutes walk away. If you are on a free and easy trip, the bus from taichung to sun moon lake will bring you to shuishe pier, and from there you can easily... More

We revisited Sun Moon Lake and chose to return to Laurel Villa as we had enjoyed our previous stay. Room in the main building was just as we had remembered - clean, homely and now upgraded with a new LCD TV and aircon unit. We spent 3 days with them this time and had more opportunities to chat with Wayne,... More

I will not hesitate to stay here again if I visit Sun Moon Lake in the future. The owner and family offered extra services, which were not expected. We were brought to a quiet spot to see fireflies and you won't be disappointed with what you see as the owner knows when is the best time and where to go... More

I really enjoyed my stay at this minsu. The owner, Wayne and his family were very very hospitable and friendly. Wayne is very helpful and shared a lot on the history and nature of Sun Moon Lake and the tea from this area. By far, this is my best minsu stay in Taiwan :)
