For those looking to overnight in Xitou, this hotel is perfectly located inside the park surrounded by the scenic, serene forest. Spread across different buildings, most are dated and tired, and the upkeep of facilities leaves much to be desired. The restaurant is also underwhelming, although the cafe in the park area is decent. Having said all that, being able... More

Stayed for one night as part of a group tour. Location was really special, it was quite and serene. Hotel room itself is spacious but is quite old, dark and dingy. Looks like it needs of an update soon

The forest was amazing and it was totally worth staying in the expensive, even over priced, Leader Hotel just so we could get up before sunrise to walk through the forest. The trails around the hotel are beautiful, not challenging, well marked, and completely over run by 10:30 AMY with tourist taking cute photos. The hotel lodge building was semi... More

The hotel is spread across several buildings, and perhaps some are better than others. The Han Kuan building looked to be under renovation, and the common areas were dusty, dated and not inviting. At about US$175 a night, it really isn't acceptable that they should be putting people in this building. The three people family room would have been more... More

We stayed in this hotel mainly for birdwatching as a beginner and we wished to watch the fireflies. We were highly satisfied (we saw lots of Taiwan local birds) and the satisfaction cannot be revealed in the gradings as there simply isn't such a category. True there isn't much room / hotel service, not even a proper hotel lobby nor... More

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Perhaps for nature lovers, this hotel may be their cup of tea if they are able to bear with the unbelievably rude service of its staff. Sitou Leader Hotel is located in the mountains and it is pitch dark at night with no convenience stores or shops to visit. All you... More

If you like nature, this is probably the hotel for you. **Getting there is kind of a hassle from Taipei** First take the HSR to ChiTou (I think) then from the HSR, there are shuttle passes you buy that takes you to XiTou (?). Ride the shuttle to the very last stop. Getting back to civilization is the same thing... More

We wanted to sample the National Park, and also to get to Sun Moon Lake, and this seemed like a good place to see both. Well yes, except this hotel is situated within the grounds of the National Park (thus you have free entry), and this is a magnificent place. You can walk for miles, we walked for six hours... More
