One night stay in the lake view suites with my parents in law. The view from the room is amazing. I think you should definitely choose the lake view room. Design of the hotel is also very interesting. Very open environment and you can feel the nature of Taiwan. The set dinner at the chinese restaurant tasted good, but the... More

traveled there summer 2014 June. we took the high speed rail from Taipei and the hotel staff picked us from the Taichung station. Another hour shuttle ride to the hotel. The landscape along the way is beautiful and a storm is on the way so lots of pretty clouds changing in the sky. I'm a fan of Kerry Hill and... More

If I had one word to summarize my experience at this establishment...it would be "Wow!!" From check-in at the hotel and finally getting to our rooms, the staff at the hotel was very courteous and we definitely feel pampered. I've stayed at the St. Regis in NYC before and the service at this hotel excels even the St. Regis. The... More

We were booked into this hotel for two nights as part of a group tour. It was one of the best hotels that we stayed at in Taiwan. As the name suggests, it is built on one side of a lake. The location of the hotel makes that floor levels and building references a little confusing. The entrance and reception... More

The Lalu is known in Taiwan as one of the best hotel around… This is far away from the truth. The hotel appears to be neglected by the owners. The hotel has been little or no maintenance since it opened in 2001. Here is our experience of “our stay” in The Lalu: We preordered pick-up from our hotel in Taichung... More

Welcome staff and drink are very nice. Spectacular view, absolutely wonderful. The light and colours change all day long, you could stay seated on your terrace all day. All rooms have a lake view, which is great. Beautiful room and bathroom, private terrace with a bed. Swimming-pool is beautiful. Hotel is quiet. Lovely shops with a wide range of items.... More

We stayed here for one night at a cost of close to 600 USD. When you research the place you will find write ups about it being a 6* hotel etc and i can imagine when it first opened it was amazing, however in the last decade the place has fallen into a state of decay and is in serious... More

I love the Lalu. It is one of the most gorgeous resorts I've ever been. It starts the minute you check in. The lobby overlooks Sun Moon Lake and every frame is a picture. We got rooms on the ground floor which opens up into a private garden. Quite a waste since there were mosquitoes in summer and we didn't... More

This is a world class hotel in the very centre of Taiwan. Set on a hill overlooking Sun Moon Lake, it cascades down the hillside, ensuring all lake side rooms have a great view of the lake. Rooms are all spacious and extremely well appointed with a Edie balcony, comfortable beds (soft mattresses which is unusual in Taiwan, wonderful bathroom,... More
