I stayed here for 2 nights with my friend in March 2015. Luckily, the lake view suite is available! I used to be here last August to have lunch at Chinese restaurant with my family. I was surprised since then by the scenery, the architecture and food there which were very very good. This time, I have the opportunity to... More

The best thing to say about this place is the interior design and how it combines with the beautiful landscape. The views it creates is simply masterful. Also the rooms, which are closer to being suites, are superbly designed and very generous in size and carry all the amenities. As for the building's exterior however, one can see the fatigue... This hotel is a designer's dream. Serene and calming. The rooms are well designed, all with views over the lake, which even in the mist looks fabulous. The bed is comfortable and the daybed on the balcony would be inviting in warmer weather. The bathrooms are interesting, with sliding doors separating shower, toilet and washbasin. Even the amenities come in... More

We spent two nights at this hotel which is situated right beside the Sun Lake. It needs a makeover as it's starting to look a tad tired. Our room had a very roomy balcony overlooking the lake. Unfortunately the smog made it difficult to see the view. There are mosquitos so you can't leave your balcony door open. If you... More

Have stayed in several hotels at sun moon lake. Lalu is certainly not the cheapest, but among the best in that area. I took a suit with a balcony and lake view. Initially I was upgraded to the suit with own garden and swimming pool. But there were just too many mosquitos and the water in the pool was not... More

The Lalu is the premier hotel at Sun Moon Lake, and delivers on its promise. While the architecture and entrance is intentionally understated, the interior design and generous use of wood and water is soothing- you truly feel like you're surrounded by nature. Rooms feature spacious balconies and a stunning view of the lake, which takes on a different character... More

This is one ugly slab of a hotel on the edge of Sun moon lake. Interesting sort of industrial design of open spaces; practical but not pretty. Hotel is looking and feeling its age. I would guess the owners haven't invested anything in it apart from essential maintenance since they bought/built it following the (physical) earthquake induced collapse of its... More

A wedding and corporate party notably stressed all staff and systems, which were unable to alleviate problems impeding our hope for rest and relaxation from 330pm to 8pm: at curbside arrival, the entrance was blocked by tour buses and backed up, lobby bathrooms were unkept and inundated with lines, and room delivery delayed. Upon entering the room, we had to... More

Behind the utmost ugly frontage of this hotel paradise is hidden. The contrast between the (in my opinion) tasteless front (as seen from a boat on Sun Moon Lake) and the fabulous interior couldn't be bigger. The hotel is situated about 20 m above the Sun Moon Lake level, and the rooms have a really splendid view over the lake... More

This hotel has an excellent location at one of the best spots at the Sun Moon Lake. The large suite designed room faces the lake directly with a great view to Lalu island. The room was huge with a large living room, spacious bed- and bathroom with a huge balcony with a lounge chair too facing the lake. Try to... More
