Perfect place close to town center and with very nice rooms, excellent staff and really good price. Sea side cost more and offer the (quite loud) sound of waves. It's not possible to swim because of the super strong waves and currents but there are many nice places to hang out on further down the beach (not on this property... More

everything is clean, spacious and nice. You will have everything you need, evan hot water - which is not available in general in Tangalle. BUT it is old fashioned. The hotel itself is not beautiful, but very old fashioned. But you face the beach, and - as others wrote - the boys that work there are very, very nice. We... More

We stayed here for 4 nights. We were traveling in a group of 5 and me and my partner needed a room for two. The other 3 booked a room in the hotel building by the sea on the condition that we can get a room in the road side hotel building (owned by the same person) for 1000 Rs... More

We originally stayed in a nearby hotel but left because we were dissatisfied. We came across Gayana while walking along the beach at night and the staff were incredibly helpful and the price of the room was half of what we paying a few hotels down. The room was basic but had everything we required and it was very clean,... More

i had the pleasure of staying at gayana hotel on and off from february until end of may 2013. The rooms are large with fantastic scenes-lush,colorful variety of stunning tropical plants, the ocean and a short walk to town for food-although their food is excellent as well! The beach is large with fantastic waves-fun place to be. And the family... More

I visited here with my wife for only one day. This is really good place with nice location. Just with the beach and with the sound of the waves it is a good place to stay with a minimum price. Room and bath rooms were clean and AC and fans were good. They had hot water also. There is a... More

If you have ever wondered what it would feel like to be on a deserted island, stay here! We were transfered here from another Hotel after they double booked us and we are so pleased they did and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was beautiful, clean and serene! The staff were friendly and our room was well priced. Im... More

We don't usually stay in the hotel type of places but by the time we passed in front of it and since we have checked a couple of places before (one overpriced, the other smaller place had no one around to answer), we gave it a try and got an airy double fan room with balcony and sea view in... The fan could not spin when the mosquito net was up. The bed was built for a midget so everything from my calves down hung off and hit the mosquito net. The pillows must have been rocks in another lifetime. The mattress had prickly things sticking up from it. The smell from the kitchen (which doesn't have great reviews) stunk... More

Gayana was about the 6th place we checked out in Tangalle before agreeing to check in. The price at 2,500 rupees was reasonable, and the rooms were spacious, bright and airy - with a good-sized balcony overlooking the beach. All rooms have large comfortable four-poster beds with nets in place. The young lads that actually run the place are friendly... More
