We had a wonderful stay at the ibis. The beach is beautiful and the options to relax in their (loved the comfortable daybeds) beach garden are plentiful. The rooms are basic but very spacious. Food is very good too. Good location too to visit some sites in the area ( a fun tuk-tuk half day) including an evening visit to... More

My (now) husband and spent 2 months in Sri Lanka and used the Ibis as our base. We've since been back for two weeks and wouldn't stay anywhere else in that area, we love it (we also got engaged there!) The owner Ranjit is a great host, with an infectious laugh and we got to know him and his wife... More

We spent there only one night as we wanted to have a little outing from Colombo during the weekend. We really liked our stay there and will definitely come back. The rooms are nice and comfortable, the food was very nice and the atmosphere in general was also very good. I can only recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night in December 2012. We would have loved to stay longer, but they were fully booked. This was the tinyest room we had on our trip, and the only place were we did not have our own bathroom, and still we would have loved to stay - and that says a lot... More

We stayed in January 2014 and were meant to stay for 2 days and then travel down the south coast but once we had stayed one night we extended our stay for 5 days; leaving us just two to travel the rest of the coast. This was out of character for how we travelled the rest of the island but... More

We stayed 3 days on this place. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. We had a spacious room on the first floor with a large bed. We did not use the airco, because the temperature in the night was 23 degrees . Nice walking on the clean beach.

We really enjoyed our stay in Tangalle, the city is not that much but the beaches are great. It was one of our top places of our 3 weeks trip mainly because of the IBIB. The location of IBI is great, right on the beach where you are more than capable to swim, even when the Lonely says you cant.... More

We stayed in the Maharaja bungalow, which was well furnished with comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Booked for 3 days extended to 4, and would have liked to have stayed longer. The food was good quality, freshly cooked and delicious.Superb location with beach front palm trees and hammocks and chairs with sunshades, a place to stay all day to read or... Nice rooms but alas, above the going market rate for the area and surrounding quality available. Staff/Owners leave a lot to be desired... If you order for the fish "Special" be sure to negotiate price before ordering and be prepared to wait a long time.... Then whilst still eating also be prepared to have your table cleared away. Another tip... More

Dear guests, the full fish has a daily price, as you can read in the menue. Please ask for the price before you order it. The big full fish needs of course a bit longer to be ready to eat, then a slice of fish. If you can not wait, please order in the morning for the dinner with a... More

Due to our planning we stayed two days and one night only, but promised ourselves to come back for more in the future! Super wide open space right on most beautiful beach, under gently swaying coconut trees, superbly chilled atmosphere, relaxing music, wide privately staged double loungers under sun shades on the beach. Fantastic freshly cooked meals, attentive staff, fantastic... More
