Beautiful location on a strip of deserted beach fringed by palm trees. The perfect place to kick back, relax and sink into a book whilst lounging in a hammock and enjoying views of the Indian ocean. There are a couple of local excursions if you're interested in turtle or bird watching, long walks on the unspoilt beach or bike rides... More

Turtle Bay is set up in a unique area, far off any touristic spot. You can call it solitary, if you want: it is definitely not a the jungle, but in a small (wide) village, which every guest can get to know, since the hotel offers a free tuk-tuk ride through the village - nice! But once you are there,... More

The location is beautiful, the hotel is clean, comfortable and characterful, and the service and hospitality second to none. It's a bumpy ride from the main road, but the welcome that awaits you is well worth it! We only stayed there two nights on our way to Passekudah on the east coast, so next time we plan to stay at... This hotel is a paradise on earth! This was the best holiday of our lives! The best hotel in Sri Lanka: sensational location, beautiful and deserted beach, very clean and pleasantly decorated rooms, VERY tasty food and most importantly great service that makes you feel special. We stayed at Turtle Bay for four nights and were sorry to leave. The location is magical and after travelling the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, and experiencing a total of nine very different venues, this did not disappoint. Having read some of the critical reviews we can only assume that some other customers are very hard to please. True it... More

My son and I stayed at Turtle Bay from Feb 16-19, 2014 at the end of a 12 day tour around Sri Lanka. I was concerned that the place would meet our needs since I had only seen it on the Web site and read some reviews. I told our driver not to take anything out of the car until... More

The pool is chipped and my husband cut his foot in the pool. Management should have put up a sign informing guests about the chipped pool rather than waiting for them to get cut n find out for themselves. This is why I give this hotel a low rating. If the pool was usable or management had warned us about... More

Really lovely hotel with a friendly staff and wonderful location. It's almost like you're staying at your own private beach house in Sri Lanka. The rooms are large and comfortable with your own terrace. Nothing beats falling asleep to the sound of the ocean just outside your window.

Just spent one night and most of a day at turtle bay. Beach was stunning. No one (virtually) on the what must be many km beach apart from a few fishermen. How many more years it will be like this i wonder. Sea was very choppy and not for little ones to swim in but we spent a number of... More
