Well I'm a local. And for a local beaches of Sri Lanka is not much of a big deal. But that all changed when I visited Mangrove beach cabanas. The hotel was the most serene one I've ever been to. If you want to relax and let the stress go away this is the perfect stop. I stated for two... More

This place is heaven! I was there last May and I am going again in 5 weeks time - must experience a great pleasure again! - it has a beautiful clean beach with no hawkers, very few tourists and only a handful of fishermen unloading their catch (which you will probably have at your meal later on!). There are cabanas... More

We stayed as a family in the Mangrove Chalets. We actually booked in the cabanas but they put us in the chalets and must say that was good. The chalets are fabulous and offer 2 doubles beds divided by a wall. Good bathroom and a nice terrace to sit back under some palm trees after a day on the beach.... More

This place is composed of two different areas : the chalets and the cabanas, separated by a 5 min walk on the beach, and each one having its own restaurant and deserted stretch of beach with chairs and hammocks. We stayed in the chalets, and from what I could see, the chalet area is a bit more upscale than the... More

We came in June. Low season and not great for the ocean as its quite rough. We loved it here even though swimming really wasn't advisable. As the owners say, they do have the best spot as the rocks create a bit of a barrier to swim in. Our chalet had two queen beds with mosquito nets and a fan.... More

we stayed one night in a cabana and then four nights in a chalet, both of which were excellent but if we return (which we hope to do!) we would probably go for the chalet since you are then closer to the best place for swimming and the nicest restaurant. anyway, both are perfect options for a romantic get away!... This hotel is perfect! I would recommend it to all. Firstly, the hotel is surrounded by faboulous views - ocean, palm trees, and kilometres of absolutely isolated and loneliness beach! Secondly, the service is excellent (the owner of the hotel is a very nice German lady - I think, the quality of the service is a credit to her), every... More

An idyllic, albeit remote, spot 10mins outside of Tangalla. The resort was beautifully designed with attention to all the details, rooms were comfortable and spotless (we stayed in the chalets as suppose the cabanas).  The staff were great, v helpful organising taxis, turtle watching etc. The dinners were as good as any other food we've had in Sri Lanka. Perhaps... More

Stayed here for one night only with my family (wife and two children 7 and 5). We wished we had stayed for another night or two but we had booked a hotel with a no refund cancellation policy for the following day. The chalets are relatively basic but comfortable and with everything you need expect perhaps AC but fans were... More

We stayed in the cabanas and chalets. You arrive at the chalets by crossing a footbridge over a lagoon, which makes you feel like you're arriving in your own little piece of paradise. The accomodation was fabulous, the beach neally deserted with palm trees and white sand stretching as far as the eye could see. The staff were very friendly... More
