Stayed three night as part of Hayes and Jarvis Classic Tour. Bedrooms could do with an upgrade but in some ways this was part of the charm and was more than compensated by the quality of staff, setting and wildlife. Ask the Head Gardener for a tour he has tended the grounds for 35 years and is rightly proud of... More

It was a great experience and the most memorable stay we ever had in Sri Lanka. My colleagues from Italy were amazed with the wonderful surrounding, and the quality of services rendered by the the management and the staff. Special thanks to Chef Samarakoon for giving the best services to Italian guests with his language ability made them home at... More

We had a wonderful time at sigiriya village hotel last Nov 2013. rooms are actually Cottage . We stayed in a Deluxe Cottage and it was spacious and well equipped. But lacked the luxurious style. The garden is well maintained. Very close to Sigiriya and there are elephant rides near by. The food was great and the chefs at the... More

We spent four nights at this hotel as a base for visiting the major sights of the Cultural Triangle and found it ideal. The rooms are in clusters of small cottages in an expansive garden setting - this is very pleasant, although the rooms furthest from the Reception/Dining area might be rather inconvenient. The decor of our large room was... More

I stayed here for one night in July 2014. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. In fact, I was told by my driver that the road that leads to it is shut when it's dark due to elephants roaming the road. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained and the reception/bar/restaurant is nicely designed. The rooms are a good... More

Really attractive complex, given relatively low cost. Buffet meals of generally (given that they were buffets) high quality. Plenty of Sri Lankan food-pretty well (ie not boringly touristy) spiced. Chinese and western dishes well prepared and tasty. Attractive pool area and parkland surrounding prettily decorated chalets. Shower pressure very low, but that a minor criticism of an enjoyable venue.

Location right near sigiriya rock fortress with amazing views of rock from the pool. Within 15minutes walking distance. Also plenty of tuktuk waiting near hotel to get around. Excellent restaurant and food. Tad expensive, especially soft drinks. Rooms are lovely lodges in the jungle - great surroundings. Room was cleaned regularly. Dimly lit room. Serene and quiet village vibe and... More

Sigiriya Village is a large resort run very professionally. If you like that sort, the place is perfect. if you like small hotels with personality and intimacy, this is not the place where you will find it. I traveled with friends who had their 12-year-old daughter. She loved the pool (I did too), and she was very happy for the... More

Location & ambiance is really nice but cottages we got were far from main reception area & not properly lit. It looks scary after sunset. There were weights put on bathroom drain & shower tray outlet that raises the suspicion of something "not good". Staff weren't very friendly and food was just "ok" type. It is advisable for honeymoon couple... More

The rooms are very dimly lit. We had to take the lampshades off to get a bit more light. Very clean though and big bathrooms. The paths are not well lit and we saw a snake lying right across the path one morning so take care. The monkeys are cheeky so don't leave anything on your veranda or it will... More
