We spent 4 nights in Nilmini lodge. Room was basic but OK, bathroom was not in a very good state and also a little dirty. The best qualities of this guest house are the proximity with sigiriya rock, the very nice breakfast and the family who was very nice and helped us a lot to organise our trip all around... More

I hadn't booked accommodation in Sigiriya, so I asked at Nilmini guesthouse and got a basic room with fan and ensuite for 1000 rupees - a bargain at about AUD$8.50 for the night and wifi was an extra 500. It was refreshing to finally meet some other travellers as I hadn't met or seen many in Sri Lanka at all,... More

I stayed in the basic accomodation and was comfortable. The owners were so lovely and also very helpful. The garden was peaceful and beautiful, but what hits the spot is the location and value. I really enjoyed my time here.

We were advised to stay here by Sri Lankans due to its location - and they were right! The rock is just a 10 minute walk around the corner. There are plenty of places to eat, etc. It was nice and quiet, and we got good advice and referral to an excellent tuk tuk driver when we wanted to venture... More

THIS WAS MY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER IN A GUESTHOUSE!!! In april we stayed a 5 days in Sigirya. We got this adres from our Trotter. When we arrived, the lady (owner) tried to charge us much more than written in the travel guide. We could bargan for the price, but she obliged us to take breakfast at the Nilmini Lodge.... More

You Can not complaint to us, because You stayed with us only 1 night. It was safety. After that you have gone with some Restaurant man. He has tree house and restaurant . After that you spend all the nights there. We have notified every room, "You have to come back before 10:30 PM." this is our rule .Normally all... More

Stayed here for a night in February of 2014. Beautiful little place in the middle of town. Owner and family were very friendly and pointed us in every direction we asked them to. Gave us good info about Sigiriya rock, transportation to Kandy and where to go for a couple of beers in the night. Would definitely recommend this place... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in January 2014. The hotel is centrally located in the small village and very close to the rock. I stayed in one of the newer (I think) rooms at the back of the Lodge which was quite basic, cement floors and walls and simple bathroom, though it had a fan and the bathroom was private.... More

Nilmini Lodge is simple accommodation, but adequate (I had a non-AC room with fan, but there are also AC rooms). Wifi also worked in the room, which I consider a luxury at the low room rate. The family has been in tourism for a long time, but they still manage to be very friendly and attentive. I enjoyed my stay... More

Lionel and Chanu (father and son) run a friendly place to stay in a great location, surrounded by gardens of flowers. There's also a friendly German Shepard here by the name of Bruno. Very close to the rock (10 minute walk), lots of cheap restaurants across the road and a fantastic rasta bar next door to have a drink at.... More
