we booked Manuel guest house due to the close distance to the ruins and the possibility to rent bicycles (300 Rupees each) )at the guest house. The room and the bathroom were very spacious and very clean with a nice view on the sunset. Even though we told them we want to rent bicycles, the staff was very pushy and... More

I stayed for 1 night at Manel's guest house. People is very nice, they treat you really well and do what ever they have to do to make you feel comfortable. If you're visiting Polonnawara, it is a good place to stay and it is very near from the main attractions.

We,my parents and me stayed 2 nights there in triple bed rooms.the first room which was in the new building was nicely built with enough facilities for the cost and it had a beautiful scenery of a paddy field with the company of winged ones.but the second room which was in the old building was a real mess.I think they... I stayed one night at Manel guesthouse and I liked it a lot. The stuff showed me several rooms to let me choose my favorite. Wifi is working excellently even in the rooms downstairs. Food was good and prices reasonable. the boy Layan even played Sri Lankan songs during dinner - very lovely!

We stayed 2 nights and all goes smoothly. Rooms in view of the rice fields are great. The cooking is ok, and the Sri Lankan breakfast are great. Very very warming welcome and nice talking at the side of the dinning table. We rent bikes and spent the day visiting the ruins. Highly recommended.

Had a great stay here. I splurged (I am backpacking) on the newer building which I was able to get at a decent price since it is low season. The room was huge with a very comfortable bed, good shower and lovely sunset views over the agricultural fields. I took the room without AC but the fan worked just fine... More

Cold water, mosquitoes / building adjacent to the field of rice / air conditioning so loud that you can not fall asleep, and everything looks as if it was being built. Unfortunately, I have to say that this is one of the worst accommodation in Sri Lanka we have had for two weeks.Sorry.

Recently spent a night at this guest house whilst visiting the impressive ruins nearby. I was given a room in the older block on the top floor (watch your head as you go up the stairs if you're over 5 foot). When I first went in there was a bad smell, something like damp. But having left the bathroom window... More

Just spent 3 nights in the new annex of the hotel. Another floor is still under construction. While the main hotel is off a busy road, the new wing, for an additional 8 dollars, is quiet. Room is adequate size & clean, but no closet space, TV or soap. But you do have a table & mirror & a patio.... More
