Paradise wonderful staff great location across from small ruins. Beautiful room. Pool. On gorgeous lake. See elephants and monkeys. Great kitchen 24-7. I can't say enough about this place. It was the only place in sri lanka where I was really happy. Leaving here was extremely difficult.

Out of four rooms we reserved, you can't lock the bath room inside in three rooms. When we claimed that manager told us that you can just close the door because you are a family (I have three kids also). Rooms are extremely smelly. You can't sleep because of the sound of the old air conditioner. It was very hot in... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night. It is a clean, friendly and professionally run place and reasonably priced (for locals). Hotel is close to Parakrama Bahu's statue, the palaces and the Museum...

This hotel was poor and overpriced for what it was. I would not recommend it.The rooms very basic and not clean enough. The food was far too salty. There was a pool which was ok but the grounds could do with improvement. Generally the service was average. The Lake hotel next door was much nicer and in a lovely location.... More

Air conditioning not working properly. Uncomfortable camp style beds. No bin. Unclean towels. Shower blocked up. Room was dirty. Overall a horrible stay. Overpriced. Did not even want to eat in restaurant. Stay away!

The location is next to the lake, but away form the town We had room 14 next to the reception, dark, small, no chairs. Dinner and breakfast normal for Srilankan standards. Free wifi. Good for a stay of one day.

The location is good, away from hustle and bustle, next to lake. The rooms are like a guesthouse, basic but nice enough. The air conditioner was very noisy and freezing cold. We stayed for 2 nights and were either frozen or hot, could never find the balance. The pool was lovely and clean. However when I went to use the... More

Stayed two nights at Village Polonnaruwa whilst on a tour of Sri Lanka. Hotel is on the average side, however perfectly adequate for a budget option. Nice location near the lake, slightly out of town. Rooms are in need of a make over, however were still clean and comfortable. Breakfast was underwhelming, with very little choice - however the food... More

We were a party of four (two couples) staying for 2 nights, and this 2 star hotel was chosen on the spur of the moment. On arrival we were greeted by a very happy receptionist and a welcoming drink, following our long drive from Kandy. The hotel was of a colonial type bungalow, well maintained and close to the Lake...
