Absolutely wonderful stay. We arrived mid afternoon and were greeted with smiles and a refreshing fruit juice. Staff were very welcoming from the start. We were shown to our room which had a beautiful view of the river. Dinner here was delicious.. sri lankan chicken curry with rice and so many different accompaniments. Me and my partner slept very well,... More

We visited here for lunch while on a tour of Sri Lanka having just visited the elephant orphanage. I ate virtually nothing as the food all looked highly suspicious, as were the hygiene standards. A lot tables hadn't been cleared and there's stains all over our table cloth. The buffet had very limited choice and with most of the containers... More

In the morning and evening to view the elephant bathing in the river, behind the hotel is a very beautiful scenery to experince as a first time traveller. location of the hotel gives a beautiful atmosphere and it attract people. hotel rooms are with nice balconies, a/c, hot water, dialog tv ,wifi and laundry service. it has a large restaurant... Visited here for lunch as part of a guided tour, it was the worst meal of the week that we spent in Sri Lanka. We were a party of 20 and there were only few rolls available to accompany some dubious soup, very little choice for the buffet and for the dessert a pitiful amount of fruit salad, about 6... More

this hotel overlooks the river where the elephants are brought to have a bath during the day. we visited pinnawalla to see elephants and landed up eating here. the food was good...a lovely buffet for about 1300 sri lankan rupees per person and we got to watch the elephants as we ate. however, if you are looking for authentic sri... The room was nothing special except for the marvelous view from the balcony! Worth the price alone. The food was ok (lunch/dinner were better than breakfast), but again, you can't beat mingling with elephants right from your hotel. There are a few grassy areas for the kids to explore, but you have to watch out for the drop-offs to the... More

We were demanded to pay upfront which made us feel unconfortable. The staff was slow and not helpful. The rooms were clean but small (considering the price) We went to the dining area for food the first evening as just reached after a 4 hour travel. We were made to wait for 2 hours and still did not get our... More

We had a good time at this place. Don't bother with the elephant orphanage. It's very overpriced and it's not very nice being hustled for money every time you look at an elephant. Pinnawala itself is a one horse town at best. However it was such a treat to relax on the hotel verandah and watch the beautiful elephants bathing... More

Dirty and worn-out hotel. I cannt recommend to sleep here. Only reason to visit is a nice terrace to see elephant´s morning bath. This is only reason (40 minutes turistic show) to go to Pinnawala village.
