Excellent Hotel for who love to stay with in the Cultural city of Kandy also for shopping and nice dining. You will enjoy the old traditional style of Queens architecture . The F&B team their to help their guest in finding taste of food from their restaurant with warm welcome. Stayed more than three times at Queens hotel since 2013.... More

My wife asked our driver if he knew of a hairdresser in Kandy. He was so organised and helpful he took us to the hairdresser at the Queens hotel. The doormen at the hotel were so kind and helpful and escorted us to the hairdresser. Whilst my wife was having her hair done I visited the bar. What a great... More

This has faded grandeur of the best kind including a mini museum of the hotel's long colonial history. Great large old room with high ceilings but comfy modern bed. Old cage style elevator which some guests did not know how to use. Grand old bar where one can smoke if inclined. Wifi not great but ok. Breakfast not very varied... More

The majestic entrance foyer, the double iron gated lift, the huge chandelier lit dining room, the solid teak floors, the colonnaded exterior, are redolent of a long past British colonial era, Breakfast is a sumptuous buffet including cereals, breads, fruit juices, cold collations and hot dishes to suit both western and Asian breakfast palates. Likewise the dinner buffet offers a... More

Queen's Hotel has a beautiful lobby but that's where the beauty of the hotel ends. The fan in our second floor room was not working however the AC was. The windows would not close properly. The room itself was basic, clean and functioning. The pressure of the shower however, was a major problem and it would keep turning off at... More

Very nice heritage. Antique touch. But needs renovation and restoration in certain buildings. Food was average. Very convenient city location right in front of the Temple of the Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. Perfect if you are staying one day to cover the city sites within one day. Not ideal for relaxing.

On the plus side, large, high ceiling rooms with wonderful wood floors and ancient light fittings and hallways full of antique fire extinguishers and wall mounted ashtrays and period prints. The cavernous marble floored lobby dominated by a gilt covered accordion-door open cage elevator. The sari clad pianist playing Christmas melodies on the baby grand, all in key of C... More

I asked for a quiet room, but was given one overlooking the main road...which starts getting noise at 04.30. A pity, because everything else about the hotel I enjoyed - its real charm, wooden floors, everything polished, excellent food, good pool, even the dodgy plumbing (although tepid water wasn't that pleasing). Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location couldn't be... More

The hotel's colonial character makes up for the creaky infrastructure. The location could not be more central, opposite the Buddha Tooth temple and lake and if the building was a person it would be a character from Central Casting in a period British drama. Our clean corner room was cavernous with a long expanse of polished hardwood floor between the... More
