This was my favourite hotel of my two week trip in Sri Lanka. It is Colonial, with wooden panelling in the corridors, polished floors, portrait of the Queen etc. There's a billiards room and a really nice bar. We weren't charged for wi-fi, which was fast but only in public areas. The breakfast buffet was amazing - for R750, you... More

If you want to go back to an earlier age, this is the place to do it. This colonial-era hotel has all the amenities, including a billiard room. We stayed here while on tour, so can’t comment on the price/value. Our room was of adequate size, spotlessly clean, and had everything we wanted with the exception of in-room wi-fi. Wi-fi... More

We got a refreshing pink guava juice on our arrival. The staff were friendly and always helpful. (Though one of the bellboys was overly friendly in a sycophantic way, didn't really listen when we asked him to wait before entering the room to collect our luggage when we were about to leave, and made it rather evident that the tip... One of the oldest hotels in Kandy a short walk or tuk tuk ride from the centre. Good large rooms with balconies, very comfortable, everything worked. Vast restaurant with buffets, on-site taxi service offered, couldn't really fault it. More

I think this hotel probably has best location---- its walking distance from Famous temple of tooth relic and hotel is facing lake which makes much easier should you decide to go for walks... More

The Hotel is situated just across the lake in central Kandy. If you stay in the old wing the rooms are really big. The colonial decor has a charm of its own. Good value for money. Friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The food is reasonably good. The only problem was no wi-fi in the rooms, so if you use internet you... More

Hotel Suisse is well placed on the lake, a stones throw (or tuk-tuk ride) from the centre of Kandy. I had a nice stay here. My room was spacious, with a high ceiling and a nice balcony area. The hotel itself is a pleasant building, the bar service was prompt, and the breakfasts good (thanks especially to the omelette chef).Wifi... More
