This is a great place to stay ! VERY friendly and helpful family, who make you feel at home immediately. They really make the difference ! Our children (13 and 11) were also very fond of them and impressed by the kindness and attention. Wonderful meals. Quiet surrouding. For us, this was one of the best experiences we had in... More

A lovely homely-feel to this guesthouse, thanks largely due to the wonderful couple who run it, and of course to Manjula's amazing home cooking! We loved having breakfast and dinner in their delightful dining room whilst listening to stories of their amazing lives. They also have a fantastic terrace where you can look into the jungle and spot monkeys, parrots... More

We stayed here for three nights and had the opportunity to fully enjoy this lovely guesthouse. Even if the room was not the nicest we had in Sri Lanka, it was clean and with access to a large terrace. The location of the place (hidden in the forest but very close to the city centre) and the special kindness of... More

We had a pleasant stay here. We enjoyed talking with the owner (he really enjoyes talking to his guests) and the homecooked food. It really is a homestay. Our room was okay, but unfortunately smelled and felt quite damp. However, we had a nice stay for only 2000 rp per night. Kandy itself was a bit disappointing and very polluted,... More

A reasonable choice if you are on a budget and want to experience a homestay with a Sri Lankan family. The owners are a pleasant, helpful couple and there are brightly coloured parrots from the adjacent rainforest that land on their terrace. The location by Kandy Lake is good too. But I think some previous reviewers have got carried away... More

What a lovely little find. If you're looking for a warm welcome and made to feel like part of the family, this is your place. The accommodation is comfortable with lovely hot showers! Nothing is too much trouble, including a lovely home cooked meal. Thanks for a lovely night. LKR 3,000 incl dinner and breakfast!

Very helpful staff and overall good value for money..!! close to the tooth temple and walking distance. open landings with a view of the valley and the mountains, and the monkeys in the morning. Welcomed with a glass of melon juice, and given a good breakfast; wonderful value. Out of town (ie a five minute walk) so quiet and restful... More

This is a lovely guesthouse. It is only a short walk into Kandy. The owners are lovely and very helpful. They will give you information about Kandy and the best way to get around and what the local prices are. The home cooked food is delicious. Wayne and Nicola - England

The Green Villa was a lovely guest house, close to the beautiful Kandy lake. The owners are very helpful, the home cooked food was very tasty as well! I highly recomend this place for anyone who wants to spend some time in and around Kandy.

I spent 3 nights at the Green Villa in Kandy. It's 10 minutes from town and the Temple, nonetheless very quiet (you only hear birds and squirrels at night!), being a little bit higher from the centre in the middle of nature. The owners are simply great, very kind and warmhearted and ready to help whenever they can. They will... More
