This is situated in an amazing location, up a somewhat scary tiny road raked very steep at the end. But what a view across to the other side of the valley! The entrance hall and staircase is something to behold. We stayed in one of the suites at very reasonable cost that was more than comfortable. Very informative owner and... More

We have just left this hotel yesterday. On being collected from the airport by the manager who was very polite and informative, we travelled some 3.5hrs to the hotel, the last half mile was very interesting, the road is unclassified and is 1 in 4 ! The walk up the stairs is very steep, please do not use this hotel if you... More

Large colonial house on steep hillside. Impressive staircase and stunning views of the town and hills. Large en suite bedroom with big comfortable 4 poster bed and balcony. Unfortunately decor is worn and tired. The room could do with a deep clean. We were disappointed that this was not done despite bringing it to management attention. Food was only average... More

Everything was perfect. Beautiful view, clean rooms, delicious foods. Especially They had real good hospitality. If you need any help or even if you don't, just talk with them. will be satisfied. It's a bit far from the center of the city, but enough convenient by taking hotel's three wheeler or car(pretty reasonable price) Away from noises, pleased with birds... More

Our family of five spent two nights at The Richmond House. We loved the colonial charm of this converted old house, with lots of antiques, historic photos and great atmosphere. We had the King suite which was huge, with a big four poster bed, antique style furniture and a great verandah with gorgeous views out over Kandy. We enjoyed the... More

We had a wonderful time at this lovely early 20th century house. Despite awful weather for most of the stay, we were made most welcome by the friendly staff. The room was comfortable and when the cloud cleared, excellent views of the city were to be seen. Our 4 year old son was made most welcome and despite his constant... More

A nice converted house on a hilltop overloking the busy suberbs of Kandy. It is a bit far away from the city. The room was good except the bathroom was a bit dirty with mild growing on the tiles and curtains. The staf and food where excelent.

I stayed with my husband and parents at Richmond House for 2 nights. It's a converted plantation bungalow, high on the hill above Kandy with amazing views looking over the city and surrounds. It does take 30min or so to get into the city centre but I preferred being slightly further out. We had standard rooms which were large with... More

We generally had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Free wifi was a bonus. Breakfast was alright, nothing fantastic but good enough. Our only issue was how far it was from Kandy.
