St Bridget’s staff made us feel welcome, they were attentive, friendly and helpful with some transport advice. Our double room was simple, clean and comfortable with a big double bed, sunny little balcony overlooking the garden and ensuite bathroom. The wifi was good in the main reception area but weak in our room. Breakfast was western style and tasty (eggs,... More

I was recommended to St. Bridget's by another guesthouse owner who had previously offered sound advice. I was thrilled to have found a place to stay in Kandy last minute during the high season, but unfortunately I had no idea how truly awful the experience would be... Besides the small, dark, damp and unclean room... the even smaller (door doesn't... More

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. The owners were wonderful people, so warm, friendly and welcoming. We received tea and biscuits on our arrival before being shown to our room, which wasn't in the main building. We have absolutely no complaints regarding our room- it was spotlessly clean, very cosy and had a lovely soft double bed... More

Kandy is quite difficult to find good value for money budget accommodation. If you want to be right in the centre, you have to compromise on not having Wifi (or paying more money). This little gem is around 20-30 minutes walk (depending who you are!) from the centre in a peaceful countryside style location. Breakfast is not included in the... More

We stayed for three nights in this place. It is a little outside of Kandy, but you can easily walk to the centre of Kandy. The room was nice and clean and we had a warm welcome with tea. The food, homemade, was excellent and the gave us good advice about our trip in Sri Lanka. We really loved it!

Lovely place to stay with relaxing garden and good Sri Lankan food but a bit far away from the central city for me - it's a 10 minute tuk tuk ride or a good half hour walk, which does put you off short interludes of shopping, city sight seeing and trying a range of eating places. Personal view. Only Wi-Fi... More

We stayed at St Bridgets for two nights during the early part of our Sri Lankan trip. We were immediately struck by how welcoming and friendly Pipi, Tusara and the rest of the staff were. Dinner on the first night was fantastic, especially as it was our first experience of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The second nights food wasn't quite... More

Confortable. Cute. Cosy. Green and calm setting in the forest with monkeys and funky birds. Unlike in other reviews where we read the food was outstanding, we found it average. Usual rice and curry like everywhere else. It’s a 20-30 min walk to downtown, but tuktuk drivers know the place. Pipi is a host that wants to talk with her... More

Such a wonderful guest house in the middle of the forest! Quiet and peaceful. Wonderful service and food! Must try their dinner!! The rooms are really nice and the beds are comfortable. We had a really great time here, and it is just a tuktuk ride away from the center.

I spent my first 2 nights in Sri Lanka at St Bridget's GH and one night on my way from the highlands to the north. The house is beautiful. On the hills of Kandy, peaceful and quiet place located 15 min walking distance from the city of Kandy. The room is nice and clean and the garden is very beautiful.... More
