Stayed two nights in the Majestic Tourist hotel and would definitely recommend it! The rooms are as advertised and expected - basic, clean and nice. Upstairs is the best bit - the restaurant does wonderful food and the views over kandy and surrounding hills are stunning. The staff are very relaxed, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Very very good budget option.... More

We stayed for 2 nights in December, I would definitely return. The Owner and his wife were so friendly and extremely helpful. The room was clean and we had lovely views over the hills. They have a rooftop restaurant with fabulous views, which is great for breakfast, and they serve a good range of food for other meals too. My... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights as a base for visiting Kandy & Anuraduphura. The owner Joseph couldn't be more helpful, and his advice served us well. If you are eating in Kandy, go to the 'Muslim' for the best value and tasting curry you will ever have ;)

We stayed at the Majestic Tourist Hotel for 2 nights last week, and were very pleased with our experience. The hotel is a little older, and out of town a touch (a nice walk), but the owners are super-friendly and accommodating. The breakfast and dinners were delicious, and the room was clean. My travel companion became sick during our time... More

This was further out of Kandy town than I expected but reasonable price by tuktuk. To be honest, the distance is part of the charm - it's quiet and there is no hassle. The staff were friendly but be ready for lots of stairs. I ate elsewhere in the evening but breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable and fan worked... More

Really friendly staff and basic but clean rooms. The rooftop restaurant is great, food tasted good, but order in time, it takes a while to prepare. PS: be sure to close the windows and doors when you leave the room; monkeys are on the hunt!

The rooms here are big and most have balconies with views of the surrounding hills which is lovely. The food at the roof top restaurant is fabulous, you have to try the deviled dishes - super yummy. The best part about this hotel is the family that run it, so friendly, so happy to give advise and ideas and so... More

Joseph and Kumari are wonderful hosts. They gave me excellent advice for onward travel and how to deal with tuk-tuk drivers and touts. The room is spacious and hot showers are available 24 hours a day.My only issue is the poor condition of the pavement from the main road to the hotel. The food is exceptionally good.

This Hotel situated in the hilly area just up from the beautiful Kandy lake has great views from the roof top terrace. This is the spot for breakfast overlooking the city and green leafy area around the lake. Joseph and Kumari the owners are very friendly and helpful with lots of information on what to see and do.
