We enjoyed our 4 night stay at the majestic tourist hotel and the owners were very helpful and accommodating- lovely people. We arrived with just two nights stay booked but at very short notice the owners kindly let us stay 4 nights! Our room was just what we needed, clean and spacious and a great view from our balcony -... More

The best thing about his hotel is the view from the rooftop restaurant with views over Kandy. The location is pretty good, just a short tuktuk ride from the town centre but away from the busy roads. Our room was somewhat grim with old furniture, towels that should have been retired years ago and the noisiest plumbing ever. In the... More

Me and my 3 friends really enjoyed our stay at Majestic - which is owned b the sweetest couple, Joseph and Kumari. They were so helpful at arranging tours for us around Kandy in different cities. They have the best drivers and we really felt we were taken good care of. Their hotel is located on a hill only 5... More

I wish there was a 'good' rating because it was better than average, and not enough to classify as very good. My room was big and bright ... although I don't know where any of the 'photo's' came from ... certainly wasn't my room. I was on the 2nd floor and managed to score a 'balcony room'. Worth it, as... We thought that the staff were very friendly and were very helpful. They managed to order a car for us when the train was cancelled and they gave us some very good advice. However we felt as if the hotel was still being finished off, the back of the toilet door still had a plastic covering. There was no clear... More

While our room was a bit grim (and in need of new towels and sheets), the location and view was worth it. A short walk up out of Kandy at the far end of the lake, the view of the valley was great and the monkeys in the trees were entertaining. The rooftop eating area was great for a beer.... More

We planned to stay 1 night but stayed an extra because we felt at home with Kumari and her husband. They and their staff were so lovely and couldn't of done anything more for us. They provided us with genuine travel advice of the area. We were interested in a cooking lesson so he gave us a lesson in his... More

I stayed here for 1 night. The room was spotless and insect free too! The shower was super hot with good water pressure. I think I was in a newer room - it was the floor below the rooftop restaurant. Food was average and pricey but a nice place to sit and have a drink with a good view.

Stayed three nights. Saw next to nobody, like it was abandoned. Get by on one small unchanged towel. No wifi in room 28 but told it was okay in dining area on checkout - thanks for that. The plumbing is oddly connected - you can hear people showering coming through the shower drain as if they were there with you.... More
