Don't be put off by the stories of horrendous journey times. Try to avoid layover in Dubai & fly direct to Colombo. The road transfer can seem long but treat it as a free trip and enjoy the sights along the way. Take the comments about the tired and neglected decor with a pinch of salt. Look at some of... more

Can't recommend Ramada highly enough. Staff in all departments are superb, Chaminda in the pool bar to Damith (friend in sports) to restaurant to front desk. Food, buffet style, is excellent and varied, we hardly had the same choice twice in two weeks. Might need a lick of paint here and there and maybe everything doesn't work all the time,... more

What a mistake to go to Ramada, We was told because it was out of season there was a restriction on buffet meals instead most of the time it was set menus,An idea of a set menu was soup or salad- no meat, Fish in custard, belly of pork or chop Suey, If we got chicken it had to be... more

I have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Ramada Resort Kalutara booked via Mercury Direct. What can i say other than one of the most relaxing holidays i have ever been on!!! Rooms are of a good size and cleaned thoroughly on a regular basis (all have a sea view which is stunning). The staff cannot do... more

We have just returned from a 2 week stay, booked through Mercury Direct, staying at the Ramada hotel, Kalutara. We had an absolutely amazing time and I am already thinking about another visit! The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly at all times. All rooms have a sea view and are a good size. We... more

had a wonderful stay at this hotel, we have stayed at this resort on many occasions now and can never get over how warm and friendly everyone is. it is a real 'home away from home', in fact you are made to feel like one of the family as soon as you arrive. what makes these holidays even better, is... more

Stayed here for 24hrs simply to break up our journey from Colombo to Unawatuna. Its a nice hotel with nice staff, but was too 'resorty' for our liking, like these all inclusinve places you get - you just do not need that in Sri Lanka (unlike the Maldives etc). Swimming Poool is nice (lots of kids about) The grounds are... more

We stayed in this hotel for 12 nighs from 24.11.-06.12.2008. Because I´m working in the travel agency, I can compare the quality of the hotels over the world. At first, I´m really supriced, that most of the people from England are not happy with hotels at all. I was there with my friend and we enjoyed the stay very much.... more

We visited the Ramada Kalutara during the first two weeks of November 2008 travelling with Mercury direct on an all inclusive deal. I’d agree with most of the comments in the reviews to date – the fabric of the building is in need of a major makeover. It’s not dirty, just tired. The bedrooms in the main building are large... more

We had a fantastic plane trip with Emirates to Coumbo transferring at Dubai. The trip form the airport was hair raising as driving in Sri Lanka is a nightmare at the best of times. We were greeted well at the hotel with drinks which were well appreciated after such a long journey. The hotel itself couuld do with a complete... more
