It's really weird reading some of these other reviews, as i completely disagree with some aspects, but I guess it's all down to your expectations going in, and obviously we had a different experience. The friendly staff and great service is something that myself and my wife agreed that we'd have to mention in the review, so to read about... More

Great service, food, atmosphere, location and price. Thank you citrus! We had a trully great time shopping at the street which had vast verity of goods. Tge beach was red flagged so we didnt try it, room was clean but a little too dark, we got wifi at our room only thanks to being above the pool

The rooms at the hotel are small but feature a small outside seating area. No elevators could make it hard for elderly people or families with strollers but wasn't an issue for me. Rooms need some refurbishment as well as new mattresses. Pool and beach areas were well maintained. Food was delicious although service was a slow.

I think that a lot of the negative reviews expect a little much from this four star hotel. Everything is clearly stated on the online booking sites and there are no horrible surprises. As far as service goes everyone is incredibly friendly, if you are friendly to them (the occasional tip does not hurt either.) Great buffet offering an excellent... More

Quite dissapointed... this used to be a very good hotel when I travelled during the last year... that's why I chose the place in the first place... unfriendly service, low quality rooms... food is quite good but had less choices... probably the staff is new... there were problems with their coordination..

Me and my family(5 of us all together) spent 2 nights at the citrus hotel in hikkaduwa. When we first arrived, we were told that there was no driver accomadation free despite being ensured when we booked that this would be provided. The reception then said we would have to pay another hotel to accomadate the driver which we did... More

We spent two nights three days in a double and triple room with five of us staying in mid-August. I am very surprised to read such good reviews because the SriLankan hospitality of the hotel simply wasnt there (absolutely unacceptable-train your staff!!) Upon arrival the check-in staff informed us our driver had no accommodation at the site (despite us having... More

We are quite simply going to start by saying a huge thank you to all the staff of this wonderful hotel. They made our holiday even better than we had hoped for. Nothing is too much trouble for them, every requested was attended to promptly, efficiently and most importantly with a huge smile. Quite simply the most friendly, cheerful staff... More

My husband and I returned today from a 13 night stay at The Citrus Hotel (booked through Mercury Direct). What a fantastic place! The hotel is centrally located on the main Galle Road, with lots of shops and restaurants right on the door step and situated on the sea front - slap bang between the main beach and the coral...
