What could have been a lovely one night stay as part of our tour around the island was ruined by poor customer service by the reservation staff, an unapologetic manager who refused to take any responsibility for the mistake in booking creating a huge amount of stress and hassle for the 15 guests in the group. Despite a great location,... More

Stayed here 2 nights in April and thought the hotel was absolutely amazing. Service was just fantastic. Rooms are very roomy and bed was so comfy. The hotel is in the most beautiful location, over looking beautiful lake and mountain scenery. Lots to do at this hotel, swimming pool, tennis, bamington, small park for the kids, take a lovely walk... More

This hotel has fantastic location, overlooking and adjacent to Amaya lake. There is wildlife running through the hotel, villagers children playing cricket on their own cricket pitch at the hotel and a great swimming pool. The food was some of the more acceptable food we had during our time in Sri Lanka. The Hotel has little cabins, (brick built) as... More

You’ll probably look to book this place for a 1 or 2 night stop between sightseeing the ‘cultural triangle’. We’d strongly suggest trying to set some time aside to spend at least a few hours during the day there. Its set next to a beautiful lake which is teeming will unusual water-birds There are extensive grounds you can walk around;... More

Had a 2 night stay here as part of a longer trip around Sri Lanka. On first impressions we were very very impressed, and loved the fact that we had our own stone cabin. As we were on our honeymoon we had a few added extras such as petals on the bed, balloons, fruit basket and celebratory cake which were... More

Great hotel with an airy and spacious feel with large gardens, a nice walk down to the lake and a great swimming pool. Bedrooms are individual 'cabins' with a eco hotel feel. For me the best hotel in this area, and a good base for Sigirya and Dambulla. More

Nice rooms, good food with large variety of cuisines. Best rooms are near the pool/dinning room. Make sure you do not check into the club lodge rooms, they are located far away from the pool/lobby/dinning area and we also had an ant infestation in the shower (we changed room because of that). More

Enjoyed 3 nights at the Amaya Lake - lovely rooms and openair lounges/dining rooms. Excellent spa and swimming pool area. Good choice when visiting Sigiriya and Dambulla caves. Only drawback mozzies near the lake - take some spray. More

NIce hotel. Rooms are in bungalows situated in a big garden. It is a short walk from bungalow to the lobby and restaurant, but who cares? Quite expensive drinks an restaurant - bottle of wine for 30 EUR, beer for 5 - it is Sri lanka, not Europe! Free wifi in lobby, nice pool. Good place to discover Sigiriya and... More
