It is a nice hotel with nice views of Kandalama Lake. The hotel is in a very big land and a lot of things to do in the hotel. You need two or three days to see everything. Large rooms. Bathrooms are little old. But can manage. There was a little problem with flies. May be because of the rainy... More

Stayed 2 nights at Amaya lake and there were some very good points to this hotel: nice pool, reception and the small 'bungalows' are spacious and convenient. The grounds of the hotel are amazing and the lake very beautiful. The food is ok. It's breakfast buffet with a lot of choice and for dinner its either (an expensive) dinner buffet... More

It was first hotel for us (late 30s couple) during our almost 3 week trip around Sri Lanka. Now, at end of it it remembered by having nice spacious chalets, nice authentic music during buffet , rubber-like meat, too sweet and not tasty desserts , and very greedy stuff which is really greedy for tips which are been hunted by... The rooms are like small cabins and our room was a short walk from reception. Our room was smaller than some I have stayed in Sri Lanka. The TV was useless and you could only get 1 English speaking channel. The pool had great views and was nice. The breakfast buffet was excellent and had many different options both Sri... More

It was nice to be there with a very calm atmosphere. The meals were the draw back. The food did not taste good and the same food was repeated for the next meal. Left overs? The lake front is very cool and relaxing. The staff was courteous and helpful.

Stayed here for one night, wish we had more time. Fantastic location, you can walk right down to the lake. The lobby, restaurant and bar are all under roofs but otherwise open to the elements. The pools great. Food was good and the drinks service staff etc were perfect. cant recommend it enough. Definitely going to go back for a... More

We had the pleasure of spending an afternoon and evening at Amaya Lake resort while on a short visit to Sri Lanka . The rooms were newly refurbished ,spacious and clean . The grounds were vast and well maintained including a large ,inviting swimming pool . We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating .When they discovered it was... More

We stayed for two nights in the Amaya Lake resort in Dambulla. Having spent three nights in very "back to basics" accommodation the cleanliness of the room and facilities available were a welcome change. However, whether this hotel would be suitable for you would depend on what you are looking for - if you are part of a coach tour... More

We were travelling as a group and were coming after a two day event at Passikuda and on the way back to Colombo, our lunch had been arranged at Amaya Lake. This was my second visit to this nice place and was welcomed warmly with a refreshing wood apple drink and cold towel. We were escorted to the open area... More

I stayed in this hotel and loved the setup of the villas and the nature in the hotel. Very peaceful environment and the hotel got great views of the Kandalama tank. The food at the restaurant wasn't attractive as the same dishes were rotated during meals.
