I stayed for 1 night at the Amaya lake in a family room, the triple occupancy room was good size the rooms was deep inside and we needed the cart and at busy morning times we waited 20 minutes for the cart to take us to the breakfast room and the pool in heavenly chlorinated eyes was burning after spending... Hotel staff is terrible and poor service, especially the staff in the dining area. Staff is not trained and customer-oriented. If you go there be ready to be on alert to shout and get what you want. They really could improve on the food. The tastes were not up to standard. Most of the tv channels were not working due... More

That was my second visiting in that hotel. There are some changes like the concrete paths in to the houses/ bungalows which are much more comfortable than before. Everything is still nice. Service and food and the quality. There's a new Chef and He's also very good ones. Keeping the eyes on the meal quality and service.

Stayed there for 2 nights with my girlfriend. The property was very good. Right beside a lake where we saw horse, cow and birds. Very nice swimming pool and a dining area so comfortable. If you are a person who is addicted to internet, here is the bad news. Nowhere in the entire hotel I could find good wifi signal.... More

The welcome drink, the spacious grounds, the friendly staff, the half price special (US$90 for a superior villa), the food, the pool, the service, the shop, the cocktails, good wifi around pool and lobby ... the list goes on. Not one fault. Loved it.

This hotel is such a disappointment. My boyfriend booked it for us because he wanted to book somewhere nice for us to stay for our time in Dambulla (we got engaged here). We left over €600 here after our stay and it was just not worth it. The reception staff were so unhelpful. My fiancée told them we got engaged... More

Very good hospitality, nicely arranged rooms. good food, Well maintained garden closer to the nature. Uniqueness of this hotel is the beautiful lawn and the Kandalama lake. Excellent for photography. A safe place for kids too.

The accommodation was excellent at this hotel, we had our own holiday chalet in the grounds and the walk down to the lake is very pleasant. However, the food lets it down, it was very average, the buffet meals in the evening were quite bland, the second evening we chose a la carte which was better.

Amaya lake was a really big hotel. The most splendid thing for me is their huge buffet. It offered the greatest variety of local and international cuisine I have came across inside Sri Lanka. Suits are comfortable, clean and staff is always friendly. Kandalama reservoir brings extra elegance to the place, you can spend whole day cuddled to its breeze.... More
