Grate place to stay, quite, calm and relaxing. It is made in with the nature. People can enjoy nature including flora. View from the hotel and surrounding are amazing. Sri Lankan lake, garden, trees, and neatness add value to the hotel. Pool also in nice location with comparable size. Restaurant also link to the nature. Food variety and quality with... More

I visited Amaya Lake for the new year with my family and was welcomed in the warmest way possible. They were very busy but never failed to pay attention to detail. This is my 5th time I've visited and I'll most definitely be going there again! Oh and thumbs up for the lunch under the trees-best part of the entire... More

We stayed at the hotel for two days and that was one of the worst stay in my travel life. We booked a superior villa though an offer but got a standard villa. We tried many time calling reservation but they just keep transferring and put on hold our calls without giving a proper answer. So we had no other... More

The special welcome of management and staff at Amaya Lake continued for our entire stay. We made friends of the staff and relaxed in the beautifully maintained 44 (lakeside) acres. The luxurious accommodation, amenities and enjoyable food made for a very enjoyable stay. Surrounded by historical sites Amaya Lake Resort was a perfect temporary home from which to explore the... Very OLD, GLOOMY & DIRTY rooms (attached pics will talk). Feel like just in a prison in those extra SMALL rooms with full of INSECTS. Uncleaned old bathroom with it's expired fittings and non working lights make your experience further HORRIBLE. The 4 star standards in rooms at Amaya Lake include.... * Torn towels, torn bedsheets & pillowcases * Stained... More

Arrived at the hotel on the 13th of this month around 12 noon, but was handed over the key to the room at around 4.30 pm which was rather irritating to start the holidays. We also experienced a 'noisy' AC which was duly repaired in the morning ( due to ice formation). These were possibly our only concerns. Despite these... More

This an isolated hotel were you were stuck if you didn't have your own transport. This means you were stuck with the food and drink at the hotel which was expensive and of average quality. The accommodation was in lodges in the grounds which could entail a long walk. A small price to be paid for the location which was... More

I had been to Kandelama several years ago and had loved the whole Dambulla experience. So when we planned our trip this year with kids, we looked up different hotels on TripAdvisor and saw good reviews of Amaya Lake. When we arrived we were impressed by the overall layout and the beautiful set up of a colonial style hotel. We... More
