Hotel situated in the edge of the lake and it gives a majestic view in with the mountains over the lake. Simply you can enjoy the birds all day sitting under trees. Food is average with lots of options. Pool is good but too much strict regulations. No wifi to rooms which is bit disappointing. You have to come a... More

We stayed at this Hotel for two nights. Our room was clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom. The room was on two levels with a concrete sofa on the lower level with a very small TV with two remote controls which made navigating the channels difficult. Also we could not view the TV from the bedroom. We woke up... More

Very nice resort a a beautiful area with nice bungalows in a garden area. There are two very big pools, nice and relaxing. The food is super, but for Sri Lanka overpriced. The quality and choice is super. There are many tourist groups which makes dining area always very loud and they make a mess of nice buffets. Be aware... More

Large resort with fantastic grounds, nice pool. Very pleasant rooms in small cottages, quiet, interesting birdlife. Geared at tour groups, but OK for individual travellers as well. Own transport needed. Excellent and tasty, but rather expensive, buffé. Single dishes also possible though. Somewhat impersonal due to its size. Sometimes rather confused but always friendly staff. To our disappointment the promised... More

The first hotel in the beautiful Sri Lanka is this! calmness and exiting welcome is something that you remain long in the memory! Accommodation is pleasant, large and clean rooms, food also. What fascinated me is how much you want to please that you feel comfortable in their hotel, really great! Recommendation to all who wish to visit the beautiful... More

This is your typical very average big soulless Asia style resort and attracts large bus tour groups of old, retired persons from overseas. It's the retired and I never travelled outside home country group except on a cruise. Not exactly a hot spot. For dinner, there is only a buffet with less than stellar food. The place attracts a lot... More

Amaya Lake hotel at Dambulla, Sri Lanka was so restful and tranquil. We arrived at night after travelling on bumpy country roads and a swollen dam that threatened to spill over to the road. After a well-served dinner and settling in our wood panelled chalet, we decided to try the ayurvedic massage set in another cottage. It was great. Then... More

The hotel is located on a lake and spread out in extensive gardens. Most of the rooms are bungalows which are spacious but a little impractical. There is a small sitting room with a TV which was difficult to master and the bathrooms were a bit out dated and they really need to upgrade the towels. In saying that the... More

Spread across the lakeside (actually a large reservoir), the hotel is in peaceful location. The bar, open to the air and overlooking the gardens, and with live music some evenings, is pleasant, and the restaurant is fine, with Sri Lankan and Western buffet options. The rooms are like small bungalows - spread around the grounds, and there's a buggy available... More

After a hair raising four and a half hour drive from Colombo airport we arrived at this delightful hotel beside a lake near Dambulla. The accommodation is in bungalow/chalet style buildings set in lovely arboretum-like grounds with specimen trees and an abundance of bird life and ground squirrels. The chalets are spacious and well furnished, the beds large and comfortable... More
