Can't speak to the accommodations as we were staying two doors down, but we were lucky enough to discover Saman's for lunch both days we were in Dambulla. Not that Dambulla has many options to compare it with, but the food is fantastic. We had the rice and curry our first day and then some fried rice with coconut sambal... More

This family run guest house is no frills but lots of character. On arrival we were given a king coconut as a welcome refreshment . and a cup of tea. We stayed there for one night. Excellent location in centre of dambulla town. Damith our young waiter was so keen to make us feel welcome as was his cousin Nikashi... More

we just did stay one night there. the location is perfect as the golden budda temple can be reached easely by foot. rooms are kind of dirty and in the whole guest house is a very strange smell! owner and staff are nice but trying to do an extra charge wherever possible. wifi connection mainly not activated and not really... We spent 2 days in this enchanting guesthouse. We planned to stay only one night, just to visit the golden temple, but the chilling atmosphere, the awesome meals and the staff's friendliness held us one extra night. The owner's son can also plan trip in the surroundings.

Very nice rooms at this guesthouse, big double bed and nice bathroom with separate shower. Curry meal for lunch was delicious and very big. Make sure if you walk in you check that the price includes tax and service as we were stung when we left.

We spent our first night in Sri Lanka here and we could't find a better place to stay. What a warm welcome in this country! The owner Roshan spoke a wonderful italian and he has been so kind with us, sharing important information about his country. For dinner he cooked a very tasteful Lobster and we spent the rest of... We found the staff very helpful and it is an easy walk to the cave temples in Dambulla, so the location is good. However, we found the rooms to be quite run down. The fan in our room did not work at all (but we were upgraded to an air conditioned room for free). Food was okay.

This is really bad accomodation option. Honestly I dont understand the good reviews.Rooms are VERY dirty, bathroom absolutely terrible. For such rate (30 USD approx.) I would expect much more. Rooms look like holes. be sure to try another. Only advantage is location, which is very good. Staff seem not to have interest about us. We didnt tried a food,... More

We stayed 2 nights when visiting Sigiriya, and the cave temples. Although, you could visit these 2 attractions staying just 1 night. The food was fantastic, and would recommend even if you're not staying at the guesthouse. The guesthouse is very close to the cave temples, only a 5 minute walk. Sigiriya is a 30 minute tuktuk drive from here.

We stayed at Saman' s in Dambulla for two nights and it was a perfect location' s choice: 5 min walking to the caves and well connected to Sigirya and Polonnaruwa. If you need a tuk tuck you can manage to book one thru them for a personalized service and fare. The place is a very nice family runned guesthouse... More
