This is a beautiful, charming property to spend a day or two when visiting the historical sites in Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. The climate in Anuradhapura is extremely hot, most times of the year, but once you are in the room, it's cozy and comfortable. Nice mix of Sri Lankan and Western food with typical Sri Lankan hospitality, made our... More

The location of the hotel is lovely - lots of trees - very quiet. The food in the restaurant is good. The service especially of the waiters in the restaurant is excellent and very friendly. Our room on the ground floor had very small windows near the ceiling, so it felt very dark. There were no mosquito nets or coils... More

This Colonial building is lovely situated in a small park, close to all the main temples. At walking distance you will find a nice lake, the Royal garden and a rock temple. We took some bikes to explore the temples and region which was lovely. The building itself could do with some more old style interior as it lacks sphere,... More

We went there without a prebooking and ended up paying more than we planned. Make sure that I see the exact room that they are giving... we traveled as a family and had a bad experience... the lady in the reception showed us a room very close to the lobby.. we asked for one double and one triple.. she showed... Dear Valued Guest, we really regret the bad experience you had, and according to what you say I believe there had being lack of attention, which is not acceptable, our main concern is to give our clients a memorable stay unfortunately this has not being the case. We have noted and taken your points positively and ensuring that no other... More

Lovely approach and site. Almost in smack middle all historic sites, mostly walking or cycling distance. Only about 20+ rooms. Maintained quite clean. Courteous staff. Set menu, food is okay but leaves a bit to be desired. Wifi is only available at lobby. Cozy rooms.

Set back on a large monkey infested property, this classic laid back colonial building offers a very comfortable stay. You can walk to several of the major sites from here. Service is very attentive and atmosphere is tranquil. The only drawback is the lack of alcohol due to the location in the sacred precinct. You can tuk-tuk to their sister... More

Known previously as Tissa Rest House and maintains the standards. Rooms have been modernised, perhaps losing some of the old character (including the four-poster bed) but with much improved bathrooms. Set in a lovely garden with a view of the main Stupa in the distance. Have stayed here many times and found it to be the best in Anuradhapura. Food... More

It's a (very) quiet hotel set in 11 acres of gardens and, following a recent refurbishment, the rooms were in very good shape and the decor excellent. Our room was large and well set out, as was the en suite bathroom, and the toiletries on offer were good quality. The sizeable bed and high ceilings were also a major plus... More

we went for a lunch after visiting the temples. A well entertained big parc with monkeys, a 2-floor building with a veranda - we were invited to drink tea waiting for the lunch; we were shown the room where her Majesty the Queen of England stayed in 1954 (?), in fact the managers said it was in 1951 (but they...
