I really don't know how to review this property. First of all, I am very aware that the area offers very rustic accommodation so my issue is not with the accommodation but the general level of care being shown to the place overall. I'll begin by saying that Ramon was not at home during our stay so this is no... More

When you travel such a long way to get to Batad you need to be rewarded. The rewards are plentiful at the rice terraces, but at the end of a long day you really need somewhere comfortable and unique. Ramon’s Homestay offers magnificent views of the rice terraces; the locally cooked breakfast and evening meal were very impressive but we... More

I was hesitant when i arrived to see i would be staying in a native hut be inside the hut was very comfortable and nice. The hotel has 6 or 7 huts and the some regular rooms i believe. The beds are only fit for 1 person but you could find a way to squeeze a couple in the bed... More

We were a bit disapointed about the place, the rooms are very basics and were not very clean, so are the toilets ; to shower we had to use a big bucket of cold water. The food wasn't great, and Ramon presented us a show with locals presenting sings, dances and so on, it was not authentic and sounded fake,... More

We stay here for a night and we really felt at home. The manager of the homestay, Irene is not only a fab host but also an excellent guide for Batad and Banaue. They can be contacted on bireneann@yahoo.com Make sure you ask her to teach you some Filipino cooking and take you through the rice pounding exercise. The native... More

This is one of the best ways to get teleported back in time. After a jeepney or bike ride to Batad's jump-off point, it's down hill all the way. :D The main village sits in a beautiful valley where cordillera rain filters through rice terraces and clusters of houses. Perched on one of the slopes is Ramon's Homestay, which has... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at Ramon's Homestay in late February 2013. Ramon's niece Irene (bireneann@yahoo.com) picked us up in Banaue where we rid on top (!) of a Jeepney to the saddle point. The most amazing experience ever (note: your bum will hurt the following day - well worth it though!). We then trekked down to Batad and eventually... More

Ramon is working hard to preserve traditional Ifugao houses. And you can help! He is restoring them and, in doing so, giving you the opportunity to spend a night or two in one of these simple huts. You pay for the experience and, in doing so, contribute to Ramon's project to preserve just a bit of Batad's cultural heritage. Ramon,... More

This is my second visit to the restaurant but I did not stay there. Irene brought me here again and she just prepared a simple spicy chicken dish for me. The staff has changed but they are all very polite. Sometimes I pitied the staff when the customer is rude to them and they still remained polite to them. The... More

Ask for "Irene", she was funny, and so welcoming I was ready to move in permanently. Good food and a view that overlooks the terraces, you can't go wrong after climbing 189,323,257 steps.. There are tour guide options, and also special activities for some weird travelers like wearing traditional Ifugao garments (looks so strange on western people) --but to each... More
