Arrived at Majoro at 10pm after journey from Paracas for a one night stay. The hotel is down a stony track behind a huge wall and locked gates; the taxi driver had to try quite hard to get someone to open the gates. The receptionist was friendly and said they had kept the restaurant open late in case we wanted... More

You reach this hotel down a rough dirt track, past cacti grown to produce cochineal, and then through secure gates into the hotel grounds. These are lush with peacocks and alpaca wandering around. There is a nice swimming pool. The rooms are quite a good size with adequate facilities and a nice patio to sit on in the evening. Breakfast... More

We stayed here for one night during our Peru tour. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a welcoming place behind the gates. Our check-in was fast and we were able to have time to spend enjoying the gardens. Our room was large and clean. This place just oozes character. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was basic... More

Hotel Majoro looks & feels like a cozy, charming boutique hotel. When you enter the main gates, you find yourself in a different world. Stunning surroundings, rooms, garden and pool area. Tastefully and carefully selected "story telling" furnitures and artwork wherever you look. Relaxed atmosphere, but also plenty to do from playing table tennis to enjoying a walk in the... More

We were on a 3-week, small-group tour of Peru and stayed here one night after our Nazca-line experience. The hotel is a one-night experience for many tours doing the Nazca lines. The hotel's grounds are beautiful and we had hoped the room would reflect that. Our room wasn't bad, adequate for one night. The bathroom was large. We had a... More

Actually, she is an alpaca and her name is Dina, but she is a bit of an "old grump" so don't get to close. Or it is Carmella the vicuña, with her long eye lashes and luxurious coat, a rare and beautiful creature found high in the Andean mountains. Either way, it is a story to tell when you get... More

Dear guest, thank you for your comments. Yes, Dina is a widow and she cant get over it, and Canela can be a little of a pest too if she happens not to like you. I'm very happy to learn you enjoyed your stay at Majoro, and your comments will encourage me to do a better job. More

This is not a 4 star hotel as advertised. If it would be a 2 star hotel, i would give it an amazing review. But it's not. A very nice, typical Peruvian resort. Young llamas running around. Excellent restaurant with very responsible prices. No TV's so you can enjoy your surroundings. They own their own planes so you can book a flight with them. Also a very sturdy hotel as it withstood a 7.0 earthquake while I was there.
