This is not a hostel, it's a restaurant with some beds on the back. No common areas, no kitchen, no fridge. Not even if you want to heat some water to make a coffee... You just can't. It's all about the restaurant: you have to pay for breakfast, lunch and dinner, coffee or whatever. And their food prices are overrated.

We had a party of 6 and were able to rent out the apartment they have down the street from the main hostel. The apartment is great: its spacious with a full kitchen and large rooms. However, there were no towels and when we asked for towels, it was like we had asked for someone to mine gold for us.... More

We visited Peru for 22 days and this was the best place we stayed. We were 7 in total, adults, kids and a teenager and we all agreed that this was the best place, although we had only one bathroom. A really open space comfortable two bedroom apartment, one room with two queen beds and the other room with two... More

So Huacachina is even smaller than you think. Its literally the lagoon with a line or restuarants and shops. Behind that there is another road with some more hostels and tour agencies. Its beautiful and novel, with a gritty reality too. I wanted to stay at Casa del bamboo but they were full so I did a circle of town... More

I ordered a meal and after more than 40 minutes I asked them about it. They told me the kitchen is closed and they cannot serve, no matter that I ordered long time ago. The staff was rude and unfriendly. There are a lot of restaurants. Go and find something else!

This has a really nice buzzy atmosphere, full of young people enjoying the sun and sandboarding! It's quite loud at night for that reason, so probably not great if you need a good nights sleep. Having said that the hostel is definitely average - showers are seriously sub-par and it needs a good clean. But it's cheap!

Well, great location but that's not really difficult in the small area with a lake surrounded by the sand dunes. Not very clean, the bathrooms were so appalling, that i'd decided to skip the shower for a night, even though covered in sand. The food wasn't very good, still wodering what was the burger made of. The rooms were dirty.... More

This is a very busy hostel, however staff are very good! The place is kept clean. Good cheap restaurant on site plus tour agency. Staff organise your sand buggy tours, makes everything very easy and convient. Located right on the oasis, easy access to the dunes if you don't want to do it with a tour. Good place. Would stay... Dorms were S./20 which seemed good for Huacachina. They have two wifi routers and multiple computers to use as well as seating areas. Convenient to have a restaurant connected although it can be a little intrusive. We were lucky to have the dorm next to the single bathroom which was nice, large and clean although the shower was cold. Sounded... More

If you enjoy hamburgers that don't contain much meat then this is the place for you. Not sure if they use bread crumbs or saw dust, but it certainly is not meat. Having said that, their pisco sours were great and their staff were really friendly.
