My group of 12 of us stayed here in August 2015.The good size rooms and beds were comfortable with plenty of hot water, The breakfast and meals were fantastic and service excellent. As it is out of town, away from the noise, it was a haven after a long day touring this amazing area of Peru. To be able to... More

Last year we fell in love with its charm and its staff. This year four nights reconfirmed El Patio as a perfect base for exploring the Callejon de Huaylas and Chavin. Cars and Quechua speaking drivers were arranged for our trips. Nestled away from the hustle of Huaraz, it's a pleasant oasis. The owners quietly and efficiently attended to the... More

We have been traveling in South America for six months, and this hotel has been one of the best. Not necessarily for the amenities, but for the excellent staff. We needed an early breakfast and a car into huaraz early- no problem. We needed sack lunches for a day hike- no problem. My wife was a bit sick, they took... More

We stayed here for three nights two weeks ago. It is a very nice hacienda-style boutique hotel with a terrific staff. The breakfasts were great and so were the three dinners that we enjoyed in their cozy dining room and relaxed by the fire place afterward. The young staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and... More

We originally booked 2 nights at this place on the way to Lima. But because both of me and my husband got sick and we liked the nice staff very much that we extended 2 more nights. We had the standard double room which was spacious and cozy. The bed was pretty comfortable. Breakfast is included, and plenty great food... More

I decided to stay here since my other lodging, a private home, was two hours from the airport and the flight was midmorning. As it turns out I had mutual friends with the owners, and was the only guest. So it turned out to be a family evening sharing drinks and dinner and talking about common interests. Really lovely, intelligent,... More

Staff are friendly and speak English (which was a pleasant treat) the rooms cozy, a great court yard and a wonderful restaurant (a fire place and amazing food...I love fish...the trout there may have been the best I've ever eaten). Huaraz is a noisy town, being at the Monterrey was a quiet oasis.

This is the place you want to stay! Peaceful, quiet location away from busy Huaraz. More like home with beautiful patio and gardens. Very well attended by friendly professional staff. Clean rooms and HOT water! Well worth the price for this remote location in the Andes! Excellent meals cooked to order in dinning room with fireplace. Cozy living room where... More

Agosto and Isabel Vega have captured the body and soul of the Callejon de Huaylas hospitality that existed before the disastrous earthquake of 1970. The colonial design and layout, the serene setting and the highly efficient young staff work together to provide the guests with a wonderfully relaxed and comfortable experience. Toss in an excellent kitchen and very reasonable prices... More

A nice property build on colonial country side style, with style, minutes out to the north from Huaraz. Having your own vehicle is fine but you can get not-expensive taxis to move around. The hoptel is very comfortable, with a beautiful garden ton relax. Staff friendly and attentive, and owners on top making sure you'll have a great stay. Rooms... More
