The guest house is located in a nice and quiet residential area of Huaraz. It features a very nice roof terrace and simple, but clean, rooms. The hot water in the shower was good as well. Now, we found the two women in charge of the guest house to be very rude. This came as a surprise, as we´ve travelled... More

Highly recommended! The rooftop deck is awesome and the staff very helpful. Tito Olaza speaks great English and knows the area better than anyone. Rooms are clean and spacious with ample hot water but it books up fast, definitely reserve in advance.

This place was amazing! Short walk from the main streets, its quiet with lovely views from the roof terrace. Breakfast served up there was great, with something extra like fruit salad, awesome pancakes or eggs each day. The entire place was probably the cleanest we went to, absolutely pristine. Double room with bathroom was spacious, spotless and comfortable with a... More

We stayed at a alternative (very) local Hostal nearby for our first night in Huaraz. Next day we moved and after looking at ALL the nearby hostels we chose Olaza's. So glad we did. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds, lovely breakfast (included), brilliant chill out area and amazing views from the terrace! After using a tour agency in town for our... More

We stayed on the 1st floor in a nice, standard room. The shower had hot water which was a huge bonus in this chilly city. The bedding was nice as well. The common areas upstairs are what makes this place stand apart. There's a spotless kitchen that has everything needed to cook. Plenty of room for food storage as well.... More

Every time we visit Huaraz, we stay here now. After having tried staying at different hotels in Huaraz, this is definitely the best. Rooms are small but very cozy. Staff is super nice and breakfast is simple but great with artisan bread and coffee in a French press brought to your table. The rooftop patio is the perfect way to... More

We were picked up from the bus station at 4:30am, dropped off in a huge room with a large comfy bed with the best duvet to sleep for a few hours and given breakfast on the rooftop terrace at 9am before we even registered our stay. Now that's service! Everyone there was incredibly nice. We were contemplating signing up for... More

We stayed here for a week in December. This was my second time in Huaraz in as many years. Still had great views of Huascaran in the morning. Very accomodating staff. Great coffee and light bfast in the morning.

Just to agree with what most people say - this is a great place. Our room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The roof terrace has excellent views. Breakfast was tasty and different every morning - just an example of the thoughtfulness and attention to detail here. Best place we stayed in Peru and by no means the most expensive.

2012 and 2013 I've spent few nights at Olaza's before heading to the mountains and few nights after returning to the civilization. I'll choose Olaza's for my next visits as well, no doubt. I love the friendly staff, and mornings when you can enjoy breakfast on the roof terrace and browse the horizon for new climbs. Top points for the... More
