We originally booked 2 nights at casa de manuja but we enjoyed it so much we stayed for 5 nights. Gif and his wife maruja are fantastic hosts and made us feel welcome and at home immediately. The breakfasts are also fantastic, fresh juice, toast, jam, butter, eggs or pancakes with tasty coffee and plenty of it. On our last day... More

I arrived in the early morning with a night bus from Lima. Even dough I had a booking for the upcoming night, Maruja offered breakfast, a nice, clean room with a hot shower right away to rest. He further assisted me with recommendations for day tours and trekking companies. The hostel is a little bit outside of Huaraz, however access... More

The rooma have been awesome, the bathrooms are big and super clean. The owners are incredibly nice and do everything to support you and make your stay as good as possible. The breakfast was delicious and everything for that price!! If you think its too far outside, dont worry! Its 5 minutes in taxi and costs you between 30cents and... More

We loved our stay here. The beds are incredibly comfortable. It gets cold at night, but there are thick blankets to keep you warm. Very clean, good breakfast and excellent service from Gilf and his family. They knew a lot about the area, helped us book our treks and were always helpful. Someone wasn't always present at the reception so... More

We stayed in La Casa de Maruja for 6 nights and enjoyed it very much! Especially their twin rooms (that sometimes serve as a tripple) are well worth it. Good breakfast and great place for information about trekkings in La Cordillera Blanca. But the best part of it is the people: all very kind and helpful. Since it is located... More

Excellent staff, very friendly and excellent for organising tours or hiking excursions. Internet is very good. Only downside it slightly out of town location (only 1 Soles colectivo fare) and can be a little cold in the rooms. Overall fantastic place to stay if visiting for a hiking/climbing trip as the owner can provide all the gear/contacts and info required.... More

Dona Maruja is very nice and helpful but the accommodation listed on the trsvel guide Lonely Plane is much less than expected to taste the local atmosphere in Ahuamo. The other accommodaation there is La Casa del Suizo which charges $100.00 per night. .Only the river view is nice at Casa Maruja. The photo here displayed is not what I... More

I have recently completed Huayhuash trek along with group of 14, with Colonia adventures who operate various treks in Peru and neighbouring countries and operates and owns La Casa de Maruja B&B. During our time in Peru, we were hosted by Gilf and his family in La Casa de Maruja. As a whole, we had an excellent time in Peru,... More

I do not normally give hostels 5 stars, but this place is great. We were welcomed to check in at 6:30am after an overnight bus ride. After showing us to our room we were also invited down for breakfast whenever we were ready. Breakfast had several options... Hot options that included eggs! They will also arrange all of your hiking... More
