but Gilf and Maruja definately make you feel like their home is your home. They were constantly ensuring that you had everything you needed. They are arranged our pick up at the airport and we hiked with Gilf on a 4 day through the Santa Cruz and Punta Union Pass. Gilf made sure that we did not over exert ourselves... More

Gilf was very helpful in suggesting and helping us set up tours. Fresh orange juice and hot tea and/or coffee every morning with eggs most mornings and pancakes (more like crepes--mmm) some mornings made a good start every morning. The beds were comfortable and we had hot water every shower (water pressure varied depending on how many people were showering... More

Maruja and her husband were both lovely people. Whenever I had questions on where to go or visit there were available to accomodate my inquiries. Another reviewer said the breakfasts were spartan, but I found the fresh squeezed juice, coffee/tea, toast with butter and jam and lovely eggs just perfect to start the day. The rooms were large and always... More

We stayed for four nights with Gilf and Maruja. Gilf's English is excellent, and he and his wife were very kind to us throughout. They put us in a beautiful triple room at the back of the hostel with panoramic views of Huascaran mountain - amazing. We'd asked for a double (forgetting that Peru calls these 'matrimonial rooms'), but didn't... More

I highly recommend this guest house. It is a very pleasant and comfortable place to stay. It is owned and managed by Gilf and Maruja, who are friendly, helpful, and hard-working. Gilf is also an excellent trekking and climbing guide who organized and lead our fabulous 10-day Alpamayo Circuit trek.

We had a very pleasant stay at this B&B, before and after our trek in Huascaran National Park. Gilf and Maruja were extremely friendly and helpful, providing information on getting to places in the area, where to do laundry, where to eat etc. He even picked me up at the bus station when I rolled in at 6:30 a.m.! We... More

The couple - Gilf and Maruja - are totally committed to your perfect stay at their place. The place is in the north of the city and not far from the town center (it takes 4 soles to pick a cab). Decent facilities (and blanket, linen, towel etc) are all provided. Breakfast is served hot depending on the next day´s... More

Owners were so great. Incredibly hospitable and helpful. One of the owners had incredible insight on hikes in the area, breakfast spots (Cafe Andino!!), and hints as to how to get around better in Huaraz. If you forget a rain jacket and you go in the rainy season, He will even rent you one of his rain coats for S/.3.... More

It is the owners that makes this place so good. They are so friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. Gilf is so helpful with arranging treks and giving any advice you may need. Thank you for all your help we had a great stay!

During our 2 months travelling Bolivia and Peru, this hostal's owners were by far the kindest and most helpful of all we stayed at. Gilf the owner made sure everything went well. From having us being picked up from the bus station to arranging our hikes. He did a great job.
