We stayed at llanganuco lodge early Nov after carefully planning our trip, even moving our original travel dates to ensure there was availability to stay. I researched everywhere in Ancash inc Huaraz, Yungay, Carhuaz etc, to find a place that would locate us close to the National Park where we would have the freedom to go hiking amongst nature without... We started our holidays here and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Comfortable/luxurious rooms right next to the national park. Away from the civilized world yet providing all the comfort you need. VERY good beds, hot shower, awesome rooms. Excentric englishman Charlie is a great host and an attraction in and of himself. The dogs, alpaca's chickens, etc on... More

To me the Llanganuco Mountain Lodge was both a trekker’s paradise and a haven of tranquility. It was unexpectedly what I was looking for and more, much more. At the end of an eight-hour bus journey from Lima and a 40-minute unlit taxi journey up a boisterous mountain path, I was met by a familiar face, a pack of Rhodesian... More

Had a short but wonderful time at LML a few weeks ago. Charlie was a great host - very accommodating and knowledgeable. He helped set up our day treks and also assisted with any unexpected problems that arose. The food was plentiful and delicious, and great effort was made to ensure the same meal would never be eaten twice during... More

This place is a very peaceful beautiful mountain lodge. The room was very nice, fireplace was great. The scenery is amazing and our host Luke did a great job taking care of us (Charlie was away). Its about a 30 minute walk to the park entrance. The mountains and glacier lakes in the park are amazing. After hiking we were... More

Of our recent Peru experiences, which included a wonderful Machu Picchu trek, we consider our Llanganuco Mountain Lodge experience at the top of the list for enjoyment and comfort. It is a notable wilderness area that offers absolutely stunning beauty, solitude - away from the tourist masses, absolute comfort and importantly Charlie a most gracious, empathetic, helpful and friendly host.... We really enjoyed our four nights at the lodge. The location is pretty unbeatable if you're coming to this part of the country - it's walkable to the entrance to the national park and there are various walks you can do from the lodge without the need for transport. The views from the lodge grounds are amazing. The owner, Charlie,... More

I came to Peru on a mission - to climb a mountain. After long research and hardsome exercise to get fit I took off to Lima and from there to Huaraz. It was there that I realized that unless I find a base higher in the mountains aclaimatization is going to be an issue. Went out for an evening stroll... More

Recently stayed at Llanganuco with my gf over a 3 day weekend, the location is perfect as you have front row seats views of Huascaran and 3 more peeks which are over 22,000 feet. The lodge and rooms are comfortable always taking into account the environmentally friendly theme of the hotel (electricity is solar panal powered), the meals are included... More
