5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Stayed for 5 nights at Charlie's wonderful mountain paradise this June with my dad. We followed Charlie's prescribed 4 day trekking schedule and it was perfect for us. Each trek was great and Charlie's directions were very easy to follow. Also, his trekking schedule allows you to acclimatize properly, so by day 4 when we hiked to the 15,000 ft... More

Llanganuco Mountain Lodge is certainly the best hotel of its sort in Cordillera Blanca. Location is just beautiful and premises are very comfortable, which is always an asset when it comes to an isolated place in the mountains. Charlie Good, the owner, is attentive, super friendly and worried about his guests' well-being, always ready to help you organise your trekking... More

Charlie Good is a warrior-poet sent from England to help travelers fully enjoy the wonders of Huascaran National Park and the surrounding environs. In sharp contrast to the frenetic sprawl of Huaraz, La Casa de Charlie offers a calming respite with close proximity to all the area's major day treks, and a soothing spot to acclimatize if you're going to... My review is honest and even if it is the only one that does not give this lodge 5 stars you should read it. I am an experienced adventure traveller who has hiked in the Andes in Argentina and Chile, as well as throughout the US and in the Adirondacks weekly. This lodge caters to beginner hikers, not serious trekkers.... More

Dear Michelle Z, Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Tripadvisor. If you had shown the same enthusiasm to take the time to either receive my offered orientation upon arrival (with your free early check in at the lodge), or taken one of our packages, or actually used any of the guides that we organised daily... My friend and I had an amazing 4 night stay in the matrimonial room at the end of a 3 and a half week trip to Peru. The host, Charlie, was very friendly and nice. Anything we needed advice on, or help with was offered without hesitation. He even gave me some hydration salts when I arrived sick from previous... More

We stayed with Charlie at his lodge for 3 nights & had a great time. The lodge has one of the most spectacular settings in Peru, at the foot of some of the highest mountains in the Andes, as well as a stunning views of the surrounding valley. The lodge itself is beautifully decorated & has everything you could ask... More

The best place in Peru - the views, the room, the food , the service' can't get better. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We arrive very tired at the end of Santa Cruz trek, enjoyed good shower and very good dinner, and relaxed the next day. The day after we hiked to Lagona 69 - not to be... More

Unreal views. Clean room. Modern amenities. World class hiking. Fireplace. Comfortable king bed (quality sheets and pillows). Fresh white towels (a rare find on our trip :)). Great book selection. Romantic setting. Friendly dogs (and alpaca). Good company. PEACE and quiet. Delicious food (fresh mango/banana smoothie, lasagna, quinoa with coconut curry sauce, pork stew, fresh vegetables, sopresetta sandwiches, pea soup,... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2015

I stayed for three nights at the lodge and this was by far the best experience during my travels in Peru. The day hikes you can do (some start directly at the lodge and some require a taxi drive) take you to mind-blowing treks and vistas. The trip to lake 69 was especially beautiful! I just stood at the lake... More

If this eco-lodge were at sea level, I would have given it the same five star rating, but considering that the lodge is in a rather remote location, at 3500m altitude, the level of comfort offered is truly remarkable. I concur with other reviewers when it comes to food, views, service, but would like to add one thing: if you're... More
