Wow. Where do I start? From the rooms, the service and the food -- we were thoroughly impressed. The rooms are equipped with comfy beds and a wood-burning fireplace. Each night, we looked forward to the delicious, home-cooked meals. We're still dreaming about the bread and butter pudding so much so that we plan to attempt the recipe at home.... More

My husband and I spent a week here and absolutely loved it! We used the lodge as the base camp for long day hikes and it did not dissapoint. After months of camping it was heavenly to be served a huge delicious and fresh breakfast, take a gourmet sack lunch and do a long arduous hike with minimal car transportation... More

Traveling in Peru recently, I was looking for something a bit different to do: we wanted mountain views, fascinating things to see, and it had to be a bit off the tourist trail. We talk to a few people and heard about the Cordillera Blanca. It sounded interesting (being the highest mountain range in Peru) so with a bit more... More

I stayed at Llanganuco mountain lodge for 4 nights in April and would absolutely recommend it. The rooms are very large and clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable with a huge warm duvet. Charlie was a fantastic host with great stories over dinner - and the food cooked by Zosi was excellent. The views at breakfast sitting in the... More

charlie gave us the warmest welcome, all of the staff are really nice people, including the three lovely dogs. the lodge lies on the foot of the mountains, giving you tremendous views right from the spot. it is also a great base for trekking, though we didn’t do much more than a walk and a dive into the nearby beautiful... We visited the mountain lodge as we passed through the cordillera Blanca and liked it so much we stayed an extra 2 nights. Tucked below the snow capped peaks of the Andes walking distance from ruins and a blue glacier lake it is the perfect setting. The hotel is clean and very well kept, all rooms look out over the... We happened upon Llanganuco after a recommendation from another traveler we met in Lima, and we were completely blown away by the beauty and seclusion of the lodge. Within 10 minutes walking distance are a powder blue glacier-lake with 2 sets of ruins and a myriad of hiking trails. The views from the lodge itself are also spectacular. We spent... More

Family of four, surfing and hiking trip to Peru. We learned about the lodge through TripAdvisor and we felt lucky to have found it. A perfect location for a mountain lodge. We arrived by the overnight bus, then taxi to the lodge. Met Charlie for breakfast outside with his amazing views. Over the next three days, his excellent materials and... More

The location of the Llanganuco Lodge alone warrants five stars, even if you had to build your own shelter here. It sits directly beneath two of the highest snowcapped peaks in the Andes, has a glowing glacial lake and a substantial set of ruins on-premises, and offers spectacular sunsets over the valley below and the Cordillera Negra beyond. Step out... More

I just got back from Llanganuco Mountain Lodge. The place is incredible, walking distance from the Huandoy and literally below the Huascarán mountain. The Keushu lake is a 5 minute walk from your room and you can walk to the glaciar of the Huandoy from the lodge. Great food and good accommodations, and Charlie the owner is a very friendly... More
