Llanganuco mountain lodge is a great option for exploring the stunning sceneries of the Cordillera Blanca without all the hassles of staying in Huaraz. The rooms are lovely; comfy beds, log fires, warm water and great views from the balconies on the upper floor. Staff are friendly, meals are of excellent quality. The owner provides detailed information of treks that... More

This is a special place, and an obvious labor of love. Charlie has built an amazing climbing lodge that sits unobtrusively on top of the foothills, a 20-minute walk from the canyons that lead into Huascaran National Park, and perched above the little fields and farms of the local Quechua community. My wife and I did the 5-night package (includes... More

Just brilliant. Incredible views, comfortable rooms and outstanding food. The lodge is located less than 20 minutes from the national park entrance and has several treks literally in its backyard. The whole experience, the service, the food, the rooms and the location were worthy of a 5 star rating. My only regret is that I did not book for 5... More

Charlie, the owner, built this wonderful lodge near the entrance to the park, He and his staff gave us a warm and personal welcome, and treated us and others as close friends, The rooms are clean and beautiful, the view from the lodge is extraordinary, You can start several treks from the door of your room, or for further treks... 4 nights/5 days, 23-27 Aug. incl. Met people from Brazil, Switzerland, Israel, Ireland, UK, and South Africa; everybody was at first a bit hesitant from the altitude, but the staff and hiking buddies put everyone at ease. Food and location are beyond excellent, organization is top-notch and an added bonus is that they help the community immensely. Many Inka ruins... More

Had a fantastic stay (3 nights). The location is just breathtaking and you are truly in the Cordillera, you can just walk out your room and already be on the foothill of spectacular Huandoy. And the service is just what you expect there: no luxury (Although well heated rooms, nice!) or kitschy things: just some very good food and a... More

The location is stunning and the lodge and staff were warm and welcoming. We did some wonderful hiking - all in all an unforgettable experience, we would love to go back and highly recommend it. Even if hiking isn't you're thing you could happily spent some lovely days here relaxing in the beautiful surrounds

We had a wonderful 6 nights at Llanganuco Mountain Lodge - aka Casa de Charlie. We had considered staying in Huaraz to acclimatise before our 4 day Santa Cruz trek but found that the lodge was a much better option, at an altitude of 3500 metres and close proximity to day walks such as Laguna 69. This meant we didn't... More

We spent 2 lots of 2 nights each before and after climbing in the Cordillera Blanca at the Llanganuco Mountain Lodge. The location makes for a peaceful and tranquil setting with amazing views of Huanday and Husacaran. It is well located for a few local hikes, making it ideal for acclimatising, but a bit out of the way for an... More
