We were sent an email 2 weeks prior to the date of our booking asking us the train arrival time and saying that someone will come to receive us at the station. This never happened and we kept waiting at the station. When we reached the hotel and reported this to the manager/receptionist she bluntly said 'WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH... More

Aguas Calientes is not a nice town (noisy and expensive) but It you want to go to Machu Picchu early in the morning so you will need to sleep there. Wiracocha Inn is a good alternative: nice staff, buffet breakfast, clean rooms, free wifi acces and a great location. The price per night is a little expensive but in this... More

Ask for the rooms at the front of the hotel - the view is breathtaking and you can hear the flow of the river! We were put into a non-matrimonial room, so we had 2 single beds instead of a double bed. Two huge windows let a great amount of light in and you can see all the tourists walk... More

A group of 7 of us stayed here the night before going to see Machu Picchu. The hotel itself was mediocre: a little cold, a little damp, but not too different from what I was expecting. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of eating at the restaurant in the lobby. I ordered the alpaca, and was subsequently bed-ridden for 12 hours... More

Unfortunately, it's very hard to find a good hotel in Aguas Calientes. They are all going to be sub-par and overly expensive. I don't think this is any different, but I didn't regret my choice and stay. Wirachocha Inn is located on a side street off the street by the river. At first we didn't see the entrance, becuase it... We stayed here one night before taking the early-morning bus to Macchu Pichu. The hotel was under construction as they were adding two floors to the hotel. Construction started at 7 a.m. and continued into the evening hours. Temporary stairs were in place during the construction. The room does not have elevators, so we had to carry our bags up... More

My two friend arrived at 11 PM and the place was dark and locked. We specified on our reservation that we would be arriving at 11 PM, but no one was up or available to let us in. We banged on the door, rang the doorbell, and called the main phone number and it still took 20 minutes for the... More

Despite it's great location in Aguas Calinetes, Wiracocha Inn was underwhelming. The rooms were small and bathrooms need to be fixed up. The staff was very accommodating but the price is far too high for the barebones experience.

Moderate hotels can be pricey in Aguas Calientes -- we're a captive audience, usually there for just one night, often leaving at 5 in the morning. The hotel and rooms are plain and clean, but the location next to the river provides a wonderful soundtrack day and night. The breakfast is adequate. Best of all is the attention and care... More

We stayed here for one night in April before we went to Machu Picchu. The hotel is under construction - there was plastic sheeting hanging up and we had to use stairs that appeared to be temporary and not very sturdy. The breakfast just consisted of rolls, butter and cheese. The staff were very nice but I would recommend you... More
