We stayed here after our four day hike on the Inca Trail but in retrospect I would have skipped Aguas Caliente and moved directly onto our next hotel in Urubamba, which we could have arrived at within 2-3 hours. The man who checked us in was formal and cold. Somehow, we booked two twin beds for our honeymoon, which could... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night after a day spent in Machu Picchu. We were very impressed upon arrival as it was a very stylish place. We found the customer service to be great and had no issues. The rooms were lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The very good looking bar tender (we... More

The reviews I read seemed to have nailed the place. I wanted to share my negative experience. Upon checkout the employee tried to short me change. No, this wasn't an accident, he thought he could get away with it. In truth I found this happened a few times in peru, so traveler beware. I just would hope that one of... More

3 Blocks from the Train Station to get back to Cusco, 5 Blocks from the Bus stop to get to Macha Piccu, and what feels like a million miles away from Peru just when you have had enough. We really enjoyed the modern feel of the hotel. The staff was so nice. Espeically a bartenders. Who am I kidding.. the... More

This hotel is 5 min. from the train station and 5 min from the bus stop. Close to the town square and craft market. The hotel floors and steps to each floor are parallel to the steps on the street outside. So, if you get a room on the 3rd floor and up, you can go through the restaurant to... More

Modern hotel in Aguas Calientes. A good base for Machu Picchu. Starkly decorated, but comfortable rooms. Stylish bar. We had half board included in our tour, which must annoy all the owners of the nearby restaurants who are out on the street touting for business. The food in the restaurant was ok and staff served very quickly.

We stayed at El Mapi for our visit to Maccu Picchu in November 2013. The staff were friendly, it is very well located an easy walk from the station and main street/restaurants, and most of all the beds were INCREDIBLY comfortable. It was a treat to have soft mattresses, crisp linen and fluffy duvets - the best of our trip... More

Aguas Calientes has a definite party-vibe...lots of energy, a bevy of buff young people who just trotted off the Inca Trail and are looking to celebrate their arrival and train loads of turistas over-run the streets. My husband and I (65 and 58 respectively) did not want to be in a backpacker hotel...we heard how rowdy some of these places... More

From the outside, this hotel is fairly plain--but it is quite pretty on the inside. Service was very good. Again, everyone was very friendly. We were here with a group and every one liked the hotel and their rooms--even those with a hike to the last room in the complex (we were in building 5, first floor; but some were... More

Pitched as 4 star by South American tourism. Not remotely at that level with noisy rooms, dirty floors, clean linen. Breakfast / dinner included were OK. Staff were ok but some rude. Location central.
