I booked this hotel two months in advance and paid rack rate. My husband and I read the reviews about the hotels in AC and decided on this hotel because it is new. We arrived at the train station from Ollantaytambo in the afternoon and found representatives from the other Inkaterra hotel at the station waiting for their guests. We... More

For visiting Machu Pichu, this is the place to stay. In town centre a short bus ride away from the site and with all the "amenities" to hand. Lovely quiet, spacious rooms, friendly bar and, as usual in Peru, brilliant staff. Much better than other more highly rated, more expensive places. So happy we stayed there and not the overcrowded... Before we traveled to Aguas Calientes, we looked at the TripAdvisor hotel reviews. We were not very impressed with reviews for the El MaPi Inn. I asked our travel company to change the hotel, but everyone was sold out, so we took the risk. We were very pleased with the hotel during our stay. The location is great - in... More

I enjoyed the night stay at EL Mapi. The beds were comfy. The hotel is nice. (They are currently doing work on the water system but only during the day no noise at night). Great location! Definitely targeted towards young US travelers (this was the only hotel I stayed in during my trip that had a computer with a US... More

Stayed overnight on a 2 night trip to MP. Its pretty sad coming down the hill from Machu Picchu and we weren't sure what to expect in the ramshackle town of Aguas. El MaPi is a modern, clean and fun hotel in the centre of town. On arrival the staff were brilliant, really polite and welcoming. There is free interent... More

although this hotel is in the middle of town, it was very clean, quiet and friendly. They have internet area with laptops( less archaic than the rest of Peru). Very comfortable beds. Only a 2 storey building it really doesn't have a view but let's face it, you're really not in the room that much. Breakfast (included) was very sufficient.... More

My son and stayed at the El Mapi September 19, 2010. This hotel was selected by our tour guide, Lima Tours. The main objection was noise from nearby construction and a nearby bar with loud disco music with the staff unwilling or unable to us to change to a quieter location. The breakfast buffet was not appetizing and if you... More

Dear 1Scooter, Thank you for taking the time to give us your comments on your stay with Inkaterra. We received a lovely warm welcome on arrival at el MaPi, reception staff were great. The hotel is on several levels, we had a great view of the mountains over the buildings opposite. The hotel isn't bad for a mid-price hotel. Beds comfortable and clean, room rather over-heated making it difficult to sleep. Bathroom rather basic, shower was more like... More

We were staying here one night to go to Machu Picchu. The lobby has couches where you can relax and wait if needed. Check-in was fairly quick and easy. The bell service was exceptional. Room amenities were explained. The room (a double) was large enough. Bathroom was clean and large also. The room had no AC that we could find... More
