Very nice and central located hotel with very nice and modern rooms. It has a very nice bar and restaurant. Just outside the hotel there are a lot of small and cosy restaurants should you prefer not to eat at the hotel. The rooms can be warmed up which is very nice as it might be cold at night

This is not a cheap hotel, so their advertisements as a "backpacker's establishment" are very misleading. The rooms are about $250 per night, which is incredibly expensive. The hotel is still under construction, but we were assured the building only goes from 7-6:30 each day, which was true. We weren't kept awake or awoken by construction noise, which was nice.... More

Pretty hotel! It's located extremely close to the train station and bus stop. Upon arrival at the train station, walk through the market, cross the bridge, cross the small street, walk up an alley, and tadaaaa! The last part is a little tricky. We had a hard time finding it because we actually had to walk up an alley (not... More

Unfortunately I only got to spend one night here during our trip. This is a very modern hotel and the rooms are great. It had a huge bed and a wet room, which was awesome. The bar was pleasant and served well presented drinks. The restaurant food was very good too, really well plated and decent sized portions. The service... More

Small smelly rooms for too much money Complimentary drinks in the bar were half portion The bartenders were all busy with something other than service The lobby was crowded I stayed here because it seemed to be a better choice than any other place on a short notice To be fair, it probably was better than the options, but not... There rooms might as well have no windows. The rooms have tile floors and the halls are concrete. The design is like a motel, in that there isn't a door to get to the hallway. The rooms open onto a hall that is cement. Every footstep and voice is heard. Be prepared to wake at 4 a.m. when the hikers... More

Ell Mapi is an eco friendly hotel. It is located in the middle of Aguas Calientes, everything is walking distance including the bus to Machu Picchu. If you don't like stairs, ask for a room on a lower floor because there is not an elevator. The restaurant is very good and there is daily happy hour. The bed was very... More

Stayed here after our 4 day hike on the Inca Trail, water was hot, beds were comfortable and we were offered free supper which was very tasty and buffet breakfast, lots of food choices and freshly made omelet Check out was at 11 but the hotel stored our luggage until our train departed at 3:50, they also arranged to have... Very good rooms with comfortable king sized bed. Very nice a la carte evening meal included with a welcome Pisco Sour and a good breakfast available from 4.30. Hot water is supposed to be available from 4am but we still didn't have any by 5am! Checkout is very busy by 5am but there was only 1 receptionist and she couldn't... More
