Smart and simple hotel Nice island in a ugly 100% tourits-aholic city Just too much noisy early in the morning as neighbours wake up at 5am so as to start their day ... without any attention to other people

We stayed at El MaPi after deciding the Belmond was just too much money and Inkaterra was booked (except for very expensive suites.) Am I glad we ended up here! The location was perfect--the hotel staff met us at the train and walked us and our luggage to the hotel. Our room was not ready since it was only 10:00... More

Stayed here for one night after our trip to Mach Picchu. The hotel is all minimalist and trendy with sky high bar prices to match. Check in was fairly slow due to the number of people arriving at 5:30pm. Dinner is included in the package but there are only two sittings at 6:00 or 9:00, not very convenient. A very... More

Front desk staff was always helpful and ready to help. Check-in and check-out were quick. We stayed in a matrimonial room with a king bed. This was paradise after staying at smaller hotel beds elsewhere in Peru. Cleaning and house staff were good. No complaints. Rooms offered umbrellas and robes for guests, a very nice touch. Wi-fi connection in our... More

El Mapi is only a short walk from both the train station and the bus stop for Machu Picchu. Though modern, they have tried to give it some character. Good bar and restaurant. One great service is staff meeting trains from Cusco/Ollantaytambo to transfer baggage for anyone going straight up to MP, and equally on departure, taking bags back to... More

Lobby, restaurant and bar are very cool, and have a great vibe. The grounds are also very lush - however, the rooms are like glorified dorm rooms, not at all soundproofed, and very small. Aguas Calientes is quite expensive relative to other Peru destinations because of Machu Picchu, so don't expect much in terms of luxury at anything other than... More

We had lunch at el Mapi restaurant after our visit to Machu Picchu area. Quinoa soup and salads were especially delicious. It was open buffet including hot drinks. I highly recommend if you visit this area.

We found the location of El Mapi to be perfect and just a short walk from the railway station, through a bustling handicrafts market and over the bridge to the main street. We liked the bar atmosphere very much and thought the staff did a great job serving the large crowd of patrons during the busy 'happy hour'. We would... More

After hiking the Salkantay Trail, and then walking along the railroad tracks in the dark from the hydroelectric plant to Aguas Calientes, it was nice to arrive at the El Mapi Hotel. The design of the hotel is very modern, and the rooms were very clean. I especially liked that they listed the Happy Hour times on the bathroom mirror.... More

Spectacular and beautiful place to stay in Machu Picchu ... I stayed in second floor of the building number three with a view to the mountains for me was excellent and was able to sleep well. After a good and scenic trip by train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes to 8.000 feet above sea level, Machupicchu village, we managed to... More
