I agree with reviewer's comments: close to Machu Picchu bus/train station, clean room with wifi and Direct TV, small, simple room with some back alley noises, early breakfast was most accommodating. But we found that while the young English-speaking desk clerk tried to help (albeit some poor misinformation) and the woman (owner?) was mostly pleasant, the older pony-tailed guy was... More

If you don't want to pay a lot and just need a room to crash in before MP, stay here. Positive: Room was clean, shower was hot, host was nice, they pick you up from train, and they hold onto your luggage. Great location very close to train station and MP bus. Negative: Room is tiny and a little noisy... More

We stayed here for one night before taking the 5:30am bus to Machu Picchu. We were given room 201 and it was dirty. The shower had mold in it and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The sheets on the beds had stains and our room just felt dirty. Our showers were hot and we slept... More

Stayed here with my gf. We enjoyed the room that comes with Direct TV and free wifi. Also included was breakfast and we appreciated how we had to get up at 5am and the lady of the house was already cooking for us because she knew we had to get to the bus to go up to Macchu Picchu.

This hotel is right in town, about 2 min easy walk from the train station and market. It faces the river and all the resturants and Machu Picchu bus stop is close by. We were on the first floor and had amazing views of the mountains at the back. Luckily we were there over the weekend, so had no noise... More

Excellent location in Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu (Peru). the staff are friendly and the hostal itself is nice and small, Breakfast was fine, reasonable portion since in America people paid for plenty of food in the plate but the portion it was good enough. I book my hotel using booking.com. But during the check out the lady (owner) at the... More

The female owner is nice. She got up early to make my friend and I breakfast everyday. Also since my friend and I were stuck in Cusco on the way there because of a protest, and we weren't sure if we could get to Ollataytambo, the owner agreed to not charge us for that night if we didn't make it.... Booked two nights stayed 1. Said they would meet us at station but nobody showed up, a nice lady from another hotel helped us. Like the majority of Agua Calientes it was over priced for the facilities. The kid on the reception was lovely but the owner who also runs the store next door needs a lesson in hospitality. Every... I stayed for two nights when I traveled to Machu Picchu in April 2013. It is near the train station and close to many restaurants. For me, all I needed was a bed to sleep on and a hot shower after hiking Huayna Picchu so this was perfect for me. Speaking Spanish isn't a must, however, it is highly recommended... More

My husband Peter and I were pleased with our accommodations during our two night stay at Wachuma. Was it perfect? No, but compared to other places in Aguas Calientes, it’s a great value just a five minute walk from the train station and close to other amenities. Plus, the room, which overlooked a school yard, was large and clean, the... More
