We just returned from Machu Piccu last week. We stayed one night in this lodge. It's quite a climb to get to the rooms but though very basic, the room was clean with a nice sized washroom and hot water. They served a good breakfast as well.

Had a room with a balcony from which we could actually see Machu Picchu (from afar)! Fairly basic rooms but spotlessly clean and very comfortable bed. Sound travels easily but I guess that's what you expect in a wood house. Staff were super friendly and breakfast in the adjoining tree house restaurant is very good. You should eat there for... More

we loved our stay at the Rupa Wasi Eco Lodge! The people were amazing, it's up away from the chaos of Aquas Calientes. Super-warm comforters and little heaters in the room. We scheduled massages in the rooms and really enjoyed. Book a reservation at the Treehouse Restaurant, it's delicious. If you schedule breakfast there before you head up to Machu... More

This was an expensive place to stay for a family of 5, as they only sell packages. I had read a variety of reviews for other (cheaper) hotels in Aguas calientes and decided it was worth the splurge. We stayed on the first floor (rooms 1 & 2) even though the reviews recommend the second floor with a view. However... More

RupaWasi is exactly the kind of place I was hoping to find. It's located in town but set into the trees on the hillside, overlooking the town of Aguas Calientes. I'd hear roosters crowing in the morning, could see the train way below as it came into town, and could smell fresh-baked bread in the morning from Treehouse restaurant. The... More

The worst part of Rupa Wasi was the steep flight of stairs that you need to climb to get to the entrance. BUT that's it. Everything else was amazing. The staff were great, my room unfortunately did not have a view (rm #1) but everything else made up for it. The beds were very comfy and warm. They provided a... More

We arrived at night with the help of hotel staff to lead you to the hotel. They wait for you at the station with a sign indicating which hotel. The little town was still buzzing! Up a steep little staircase to our snuggled in among the trees bungalow. Upon checking in you can opt for a packed lunch for the... More

I stayed at the Rupa Wasi last year in June with my dad. It is such an amazing place. The rooms are like treehouses and are so cosy. Don't expect a lot of luxory but for me the view and the staff was really luxurious. They are so nice and welcoming and they didnt mind that we brought some friends... More

I was incredibly pleased with my stay at Rupa Wasi. My room (#3) was comfortably furnished and spacious. I loved the view from the balcony. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of blankets were provided. A space heater was also available to stave off the chill night air. The bathroom was spotless and the shower seemed to have an... We stayed at the #5 suite with a panoramic view. We loved the hotel and the staff really made our stay memorable. Said was extremely helpful and she recommended in suite massages after having done the inca trail. The massages were great and they really added to our experience. Overall, a great place to stay!!
