Very friendly and helpful people. Large, comfortable lobby, sitting, and breakfast areas for wifi use. No cars or taxis in town make it a special town. It's a bit of an uphill climb to hotel; lots of shopping along the way though, along quaint streets, but a bit of a challenge if you just returned from climbing Huayna Picchu. No... More

Arrived here after a strenuous few days hiking/camping, expecting a good service. It is situated about 15 mins up a very steep hill from the bus/train station / main square. All our stuff was drenched from the rain, but the reception refused to give us an extra heater. They also refused to arrange breakfast for us 15 minutes earlier than... More

Excellent place for the night before our Machu Picchu visit. Excellent service at the front desk. They will send someone to the train station to meet you. Check-in time is early (and check-out!), as most places in AC are. They (as most hotels in AC will also) hold your bags for you, so you can check-out in the morning, go... More

Me and 2 of my friends stayed in one of the 3 bed rooms. It was nice and the staff was great. I recommend that is going to AC stay here. You the front desk as your guide as they will assist you in getting train tickets or great good locations.

We used this hotel on a trip organised through Activities Abroad to Machu Picchu. It is a little walk uphill from the station, but seems an oasis after the noise and bustle of the tourist shops. We had a great guide and an amazing holiday experience through Activities Abroad. this hotel had some pleasant communal seating areas where you could... More

Hotel is decent enough to meet your needs for a night before Machu Picchu. We were able to check in at 930am which was nice. Hotel is one of the farther hotels from the train station and a little up hill (but shouldn't be a problem from anyone exploring Machu Picchu). There is a breakfast that was being set up... More

Aguas Calientes exists largely for visitors staying just a night before heading up to Machu Picchu. The benefits of staying are that you can arrive at Machu Picchu ahead of the hoards coming in on morning trains from Cusco. However, this means that the town doesn't have a lot else going for it, so I found hotels were on the... More

Stayed here since it was highly recommended. Wont be listening to them again! Location is right in the center of all the madness, stores, train station, and less than mediocre restaurants. Rooms are small, and dirty, Sheets were provided to us in very poor condition. Room was supposed to have been cleaned, however, it was not. It was prior to... More

It was good enough for our needs, meaning it was clean, quiet, had a portable room heater, hair dryer, refrigerator, and adequate closet and counter space to put clothing. The bathroom was tight on space, with the toilet nearly touching the shower door and the sink. The sink faucet did not allow you to get your face close enough to... More

Pros: box breakfast offered, friendly staff, wifi, tv, comfortable beds Cons: SMALL room!, TINY bathroom, location is pretty far up the hill Our room was right off the open lounge area so you could hear what was going on outside. Although noise wasn't the main complaint. This room had the SMALLEST bathroom that we experienced during our 20 day South... More
