Most people don't spend more than 1 night in Aguas Calientes and thats all you'd really want at this hotel. The trains are noisy during the day (almost feels like they are driving through the hotel room) but we were up in the morning before the first train to see sunrise at Machu Picchu so didn't affect us that much.... My room overlooked the train tracks at the front of the hotel. Right below my room was an early morning meeting place for workers. The train stopped outside the hotel for 1/2 hour in the afternoon. The rooms filled with smoke and fumes. Some people were able to change their rooms. The next morning the train stopped outside the hotel... More

The hotel is new and people in the town do not really know its location. It is st the edge of town on the tracks. Yes it can be a little noisy but your next to the train tracks which can be expected. Mainly the first early train going up and an early evening train but not to bad. The... More

Don't stay here....unless you are keen to sleep with trains hooting at all hours of the day and night right outside of the front door of the hostal. This place is actually situated in the trainyard...and so you have stevedores crowded outside the front door unloading goods (toilet paper, cement etc) all day and night and rubbies hanging around hoping... We stayed at the Hotel Continental for one night and it was one night too many. The main problem we had was the lack of hot water in the hotel. It's not that they ran out, it's that they had none. First off, we had been traveling for hours and needed to not only rest but to clean up. We... More

Chosen by Chaska tours - clean, basic, Nothing exciting, nothing special. Friendly, helpful staff - have no idea about pricing since this was part of tour package, Decent breakfast. A little off town center which was nice and overlooks rapids.

Really noisy when a train passes as the tracks are right outside the hostal. After a long 3 day trek most would want a nice hot shower. This hostal failed to deliver. The waters maximum temperature was luke warm. Considering the town is called Shia calliente (hot water) the hostal was disappointing

We stayed in this hotel for only a night and felt that was a good amount of time. The rooms are very average, albeit clean. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is good, although you have to leave the hotel and eat it at a "sister hotel" a few buildings down. If you're only here for a night or two, awesome. If... More

The rapids are quite noisy and the train when it toots it horn is quite loud, but somehow we still slept through the night. The beds are quite comfortable however the rooms are on the smaller side. For breakfast you have to walk up a couple hotels for a buffet breakfast, this didn't hassle us at all

One of the worst places we have stayed in in Peru. The room was not particularly clean, it was noisy being between the railway and the river rapids. There were no facilities - in fact we had to go to another hostel more than 100 yds. away for breakfast - a fact that no one bothered to tell us on... More
